Hope this week finds your player with some good randomness. I've added some new stuff (from CDs old and new). Will it show up? Will I express an opinion or two? Your guess is as good as mine.
Now lay down what your player is giving you!

'(I Know) Im Losing You' - Rod Stewart Every Picture Tells a Story *

'Evil Eye' - Franz Ferdinand Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action
'Without Love' - Nick Lowe Labour of Lust
'Alex Chilton' - The Replacements Pleased to Meet Me ****
'Radio Nowhere' - Bruce Springsteen Magic
B: 'Summertime' - The Sundays. I heard this song yesterday probably for the first time since 1999. It was a non hit back then and it was weird hearing being played over the speakers at the local grocery store.
* EPTaS is an album that I cant part with. Its only 10 songs long, but I love every track on that album (even 'Maggie May')
** Even though this song was old when I was at college, I still associate this song with those good times because my buddy insisted that this song is essential for any party
*** I think The Police dont get enough credit for banging out 5 killer albums and then not releasing another one 20 years late. I mean, egos and infighting and such killed the band so 5 was probably the limit, but still they just left everyone bagging one crappy music to Sting's solo work.
**** I think my goal in life is to be influential enough to someone/some people to have a song written about me as good as 'Alex Chilton'
The dream of the 90s is alive . . . in my list!

My brother-in-law just launched a youtube channel (24HR Records) where they take musicians from different bands and get them to write and record three songs over a 24 hour period. Here's the intro video, and the first episode is here. They just launched last week, so I'm not sure what the overall finished project will look like, but it's pretty cool to have watched this go from idea to launch.

2,5,9. Recorded and released as "Panasonic" before the lawsuit. I guess since clearing my iPod, I've ripped a bunch of Panasonic and added more back to the iPod than anything else.
7. That's just horrible punctuation, Ellie.
I was all set to take part today and . . . it seems I left my headphones on the kitchen counter. Whoops.
For any citizens interested in Angel Olsen, it seems she's going electric for her next album, out in February. Listen to a track here. NPR says the new album is edgier than her previous work, whatever that means.
This sounds more like typical Chicago indie rock than Half Way Home, which isn't necessarily a good thing. I will, however, check it out when it's released.
The Pirate reminded me today that I haven't been back here in a while.

Don't feel too bad, jobu. It took free over a decade to find GBV. 😉
And it took me almost 20 years to find The Wedding Present! Wonder what's playing now that I will dig in 2025?
Prolly Foxygen.
At least now you'll finally know how a resurrection really feels. That was the song that got me to purchase the album that got me hooked.
