Australian Audit: Games of 11/29

Errors make the difference in Brisbane.  Sydney gets Tripped up.

ADELAIDE 2, BRISBANE 0 IN ADELAIDE

Twins:  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 1-for-4.

Brisbane:  Brad Dutton was 2-for-4.  Alex Kaminsky struck out five in 5.1 innings, giving up an unearned run on four hits and one walk.

Adelaide:  Chris Jacobs (Dodgers) was 2-for-4.  Blake Holovach (Seattle) pitched five innings, allowing three hits and two walks with four strikeouts.  Min-Sih Chen (Seattle) struck out six in only two innings, allowing one hit and no walks.

The game:  Two errors put Adelaide on the board in the first inning with a 1-0 lead.  A pair of errors in the seventh plated a second run.  Brisbane's biggest threat was in the second, when they loaded the bases with two out.

Random:  Brisbane made six errors in the game.  There were no extra-bases hits, no earned runs, and no RBIs in the game.

PERTH 1, SYDNEY 0 IN SYDNEY

Perth:  Brandon Tripp was 2-for-4 with a run.  Luke Hughes was 2-for-4.  Jack Frawley struck out six in six innings, giving up three hits and three walks.

Sydney:  Joey DeMichele (White Sox) was 2-for-4 with a triple.  Craig Anderson pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and five walks with four strikeouts.

The game:  The game's lone run scored in the second when Tripp led off with a single, went to second on another single, and scored on a pair of ground outs.  Sydney loaded the bases with no outs in the second and got a leadoff triple in the third but could not score.

MELBOURNE 4, CANBERRA 3 IN MELBOURNE

Canberra:  Casey Frawley was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Kyle Perkins was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run.  Chris Motta struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.

Melbourne:  Josh Davies was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer.  Tyler Massey (Colorado) was 1-for-4 with a walk and a home run.  Joe Burns (Texas) pitched six innings, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

The game:  Davies hit a three-run homer in the fourth to put Melbourne ahead 3-0.  Massey hit a solo homer in the fifth to put Melbourne up 4-0.  Frawley had an RBI single in the sixth to get Canberra on the board.  An error scored two and put the tying run on first with two out, but that was all Canberra could do.
