Twins: Jorge Polanco (Escogido) was 1-for-4 with a run. Danny Santana (Aguilas) was 2-for-5 with two runs.
Escogido: Pedro Ciriaco (Kansas City) was 2-for-5 with a triple, scoring twice and driving in one. C. Santana was 2-for-4 with a walk. Daniel Corcino (Cincinnati) struck out two in two shuotut innings, giving up one hit and no walks.
Aguilas: Zoilo Almonte (Yankees) was 3-for-5 with a double and a home run (his fourth) scoring twice and driving in three. Frank Batista (Cubs) struck out three in two shutout innings, allowing no hits and one walk.
The game: Aguilas led most of the way, but a two-run eighth tied the score at eight. Aguilas tallied once in the tenth to secure the victory.
CIBAO 2, ESTE 0 IN ESTE
Twins: Chris Colabello (Este) was 1-for-4.
Cibao: Juan Silverio (Cincinnati) was 3-for-4. Moises Sierra (Toronto) was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Dylan Owen struck out four in 3.1 innings, giving up five hits and no walks.
Este: Joey Terdoslavich was 3-for-4. Pedro Feliz was 2-for-4. Chris Leroux pitched five shutout innings, allowing six hits and no walks with four strikeouts.
The game: Both runs scored in the seventh, one on a Sierra RBI single and the other on a wild pitch. Este's best scoring chance came in the fourth, when they put runners on first and second with one out.
LICEY 7, ESTRELLAS 1 IN LICEY
Twins: Dan Rohlfing (Licey) was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Estrellas: Josh Whitesell was 3-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring once. Gustavo Nunez (Detroit) was 2-for-4. Andrew Sisco pitched six innings, giving up three runs on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
Licey: Yamaico Navarro (Baltimore) was 2-for-4 with a home run (his eighth), scoring twice and driving in three. Leonys Martin was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one. Esmil Rogers struck out four in four shutout innings, allowing four hits and two walks.
The game: Licey got three in the first, which was all they really needed. They added two in the seventh and two more in the eighth. The lone Estrellas run scored in the eighth.
