ESCOGIDO 1, CIBAO 0 IN ESCOGIDO
Twins: Pedro Florimon (Escogido) was 0-for-3.
Cibao: Jose DePaula (San Francisco) struck out five in five shutout innings, giving up two hits and one walk.
Escogido: Pedro Ciriaco (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Carlos Santana (Cleveland) was 1-for-1 with two walks. Chris Leroux struck out twelve in six innings, allowing three hits and no walks.
The game: The game's lone run came in the sixth, when Freddy Guzman singled, stole second, stole third, and scored on Ciriaco's single. Cibao's biggest threat came in the fourth, when a pair of singles put men on first and second with none out.
AGUILAS 10, LICEY 1 IN AGUILAS
Licey: Wilson Valdez was 1-for-1 with a run. Hector Noesi pitched 5.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk with three strikeouts.
Aguilas: Francisco Pena (Kansas City) was 2-for-4 with a double and a three-run homer, scoring twice. Alex Valdez was 2-for-4 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in two. Chris Cody struck out ten in eight innings, allowing one run on four hits and no walks.
The game: Juan Perez (San Francisco) led off the first with a double and scored on a Joey Terdoslavich (Atlanta) single to give Aguilas a 1-0 lead. It stayed 1-0 until the fifth, when Hector Luna singled in a run and Pena hit a three-run homer to make the lead 5-0. Aguilas added one in the seventh and four in the eighth. The lone Licey run came in the ninth.
