LICEY 2, ESCOGIDO 1 IN ESCOGIDO

Licey:  Lew Ford was 2-for-2 with a double and a run.  Erick Aybar (Angels)  was 1-for-3 with a walk and a triple, scoring once.  Mitch Atkins (Atlanta) pitched seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts.

Escogido:  Carlos Santana (Cleveland) was 0-for-2 with two walks and a run.  Elih Villaneuva (Miami) struck out five in 4.2 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits and no walks.

The game:  Aybar tripled in the first and scored on a Juan Francisco (Milwaukee) single.  Escogido tied it in the second on a walk and two singles, with Jesus Feliciano driving in the run.  In the fourth, Ford singled, went to third on an error, and scored on a sacrifice fly to give Licey a 2-1 lead.  Licey's pitching took it from there, as Escogido did not get a man past first base the rest of the game.
