Venezuelan View: Games of November 6

A shutout for Aragua.  Runs without hits make the difference for Magallanes and Lara.  A laugher for Zulia.

ARAGUA 4, ANZOATEGUI 0 IN ANZOATEGUI

Twins:  Eduardo Escobar was 1-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one, for Aragua.  Oswaldo Arcia was 1-for-3 with a walk for Anzoategui.

Aragua:  Hector Gimenez (Milwaukee) was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk, driving in three.  Jason Lane (San Diego) pitched six shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks with two strikeouts.

Anzoategui:  Niuman Romero (Baltimore) was 1-for-3 with a walk.  Jack Snodgrass (San Francisco) pitched five innings, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts.

The game:  Aragua scored single runs in the first and second and got a two-run double from Gimenez in the seventh.  Anzoategui only once got a man as far as second base.

MAGALLANES 3, CARACAS 2 IN CARACAS

Magallanes:  Frank Diaz was 3-for-4 with an RBI.  Tomas Telis (Texas) was 1-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Anthony Lerew (Angels) pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk with two strikeouts.

Caracas:  Jesus Aguilar (Cleveland) was 1-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Alex Gonzalez was 2-for-3 with an RBI.  Tiago Da Silva retired all five men he faced, three by strikeout.

The game:  Magallanes scored two runs on no hits in the fifth to go up 3-0.  Caracas got two in the sixth and had the bases loaded with two out in the ninth.

LARA 4, LA GUAIRA 1 IN LARA

La Guaira:  Luis Sardinas (Texas) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Alex Castellanos (San Diego) was 2-for-4.  Ethan Martin (Philadelphia) pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit with one strikeout.

Lara:  Brian Hernandez (Angels) was 2-for-5 with a walk and two runs.  Gabriel Lino (Philadelphia) was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.  Cesar Jimenez (Philadelphia) struck out seven in five shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk.

The game:  Lara scored three runs in the fourth on one hit, getting three walks, a hit batsman, and an error, to go up 3-0 and was never threatened.

ZULIA 12, MARGARITA 1 IN MARGARITA

Zulia:  Reegie Corona (Yankees) was 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs.  Aaron Altherr (Philadelphia) was 2-for-3 with two walks and four runs.  Wilfredo Boscan (Boston) pitched five innings, giving up an unearned run on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Margarita:  Junior Sosa (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-5 with a double.  David Peralta (Arizona) was 1-for-4 with a double and a run.

The game:  Carlos Moncrief's (Cleveland) three-run homer in the third put Zulia ahead 6-0 and the game was basically over at that point.
