    1. For the first time, I listened to Metamodern front to back yesterday...man is that a great album.

        1. You should.
Also, I listened to it on Spotify the first time, back when the Nation first started talking about him. You could maybe go that route first?

          1. About a month ago, I got pretty loaded one night only to wake up with a "Thank you for your order" email from Amazon in my inbox. I didn't remember buying anything, so I was a little worried. Turns out I bought "Metamodern" and The Strokes' "Is This It" on vinyl. Ended up being a great decision. It sounds amazing.

Drunk Mags has my back (at least this time)

    *Notes:
    3. "Pabst Blue Ribbon on ice" will probably never sound as appealing.
    6. Did you see the link? You can download it there.
    8. A/K/A Jörg Burger and Wolfgang Voigt, a/k/a Burger/Ink or Burger/Voigt. Voigt has recorded solo works as Mike Ink and Gas. I don't think Mohn hits the heights of the Burger/Ink or Burger/Voigt works I've heard.
    9. This still hasn't stuck with me.
    d. I don't think this would ever be heard in MN. For being a close relative of the Great Horned Owl, this is kindof pathetic.
    e. From Dan Gibson, released on his "Solitudes" label. Probably the best listening of any of the bird-sounds collections I have. Also includes some frogs, insects, and mammals (squirrels, raccoon, coyote, and wolf, IIRC).
    T. This is what happens when I never finish my summer mix. I've got a bunch of things I added just to listen to and haven't removed.
    E. If I were the kind to clean up embarrasing tracks, I would have replaced Dierks with this.

*not sure why it's hyphenated; it's one word here
**sure just go and ruin my streak of wonderfully short song titles this morning

    1. **It's actually supposed to be an em-dash. It's an excerpt from his notes about people he met at a party:
      "Jane—Cute
      Steve—Drunk
      Frank—Quiet
      Jack—Ass"

    ** III..II..I

    1. Is that really random? In addition to the noted sequence. There's
      Year Zero and Earth 2
"Like No Other" and "Like Gold and Faceted"
Silverchair, "Diamond Mine", "Like Gold and Faceted", "Indian Jewelry", Free Gold! and "Shiny Happy People"
I've read through it for a message but didn't find anything.

    2. It saddens me that Viva Voce broke up (both as a band and as a marriage). It surprises me to learn that this happened in late-2013 and that I didn't find out until a month or two ago.

  10. The impossibly cool John Lurie with a great story/song about trying to get his band, The Lounge Lizards, to rehearsal.
