ROCHESTER 1, CHARLOTTE 0 IN ROCHESTER (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Eric Fryer was 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. James Beresford was 2-for-3. Jose Martinez was 1-for-2 with a double.
Pitching star: Tyler Duffey pitched a seven-inning complete game shutout, giving up four hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
Opposition stars: Matt Davidson was 2-for-2 with a walk. Miguel Chalas pitched four innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts. Dan Jennings pitched two shutout innings, allowing two hits.
The game: The Red Wings scored the game's only run in the third on an error and a pair of two-out singles. The Knights' biggest threat came in the sixth, when Chris Curley led off with a double. He reached third with two out but did not score.

Batting stars: Wilkin Ramirez was 3-for-5 with two home runs (his second and third) and a double, driving in five. Oswaldo Arcia was 3-for-5 with two runs.
Pitching stars: Greg Peavey pitched five innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts. A. J. Achter struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up a walk.
Opposition stars: Jason Coats was 2-for-5 with a home run, his seventh. Micah Johnson was 3-for-6 with an RBI. Chris Marrero was 2-for-2 with two RBIs.
The game: The Knight scored single runs in the second and third, but Ramirez hit a three-run homer in the fourth to put the Red Wings up 3-2. The lead held until the seventh, when Marrero delivered an RBI single to tie it 3-3. Johnson's RBI single in the eleventh put the Knights ahead 4-3, but they left the bases loaded. It would cost them, as Ramirez hit a two-run walkoff homer with one out in the bottom of the eleventh.

CHATTANOOGA 9, MONTGOMERY 8 IN MONTGOMERY
Batting stars: Miguel Sano was 3-for-5 with a three-run homer (his fifteenth) and a double, scoring three times. Max Kepler was 3-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring three times and driving in three. Adam Brett Walker II was 2-for-4 with a home run (his twenty-second), a double, and a walk, driving in three.
Pitching star: Jose Berrios pitched seven innings, giving up one run on two hits and a walk with six strikeouts.
Opposition stars: Joey Rickard was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer (his second) and a walk, scoring twice. Patrick Leonard was 1-for-3 with a home run (his fourth) and two RBIs. Tyler Goeddel was 1-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs.
The game: Walker II hit a two-run homer in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie and put the Lookouts ahead 3-1. Kepler doubled in two in the seventh to give the Lookouts a seemingly safe 5-1 lead. In the eighth, however, Leonard hit a home run and Rickard followed with a two-run shot that cut the lead to 5-4. In the ninth, Sano hit a three-run homer and Walker II added an RBI double to give the Lookouts an again seemingly safe lead at 9-4. The Biscuits again rallied in the bottom of the ninth, getting four walks and a two-out three-run triple by Leonard that made the score 9-8 before a line drive to center ended the game.
Of note: Jorge Polanco was 3-for-4 with a double and a walk, scoring twice.
DUNEDIN 7, FORT MYERS 2 IN DUNEDIN
Batting stars: Jason Kanzler was 2-for-4 with a home run, his fifth. Engelb Vielma was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Logan Wade was 1-for-2 with two walks.
Pitching stars: None.
Opposition stars: Rowdy Tellez was 3-for-4 with a home run (his third), scoring twice and driving in four. Christian Lopes was 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs. Luis Santos struck out eight in 4.1 innings, allowing five hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
The game: Tellez' two-run double keyed a three-run third that put the Blue Jays ahead 3-0. It was 4-0 after four, but the Miracle got single runs in the fifth and sixth to get back into the game at 4-2. The Blue Jays would not be denied, though, as they scored single runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth to take control of the game.
Of note: Zach Granite was 0-for-5. Mitch Garver was 0-for-5. Marcus Knecht was 0-for-4. Mat Batts struck out five in 3.2 innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits and a walk.

The game: Afenir had a two-run double in the first and Carlos Vidal had an RBI double in a two-run second as the Yankees led 4-2 after two. The Twins loaded the bases with none out in the third but did not score. The Yankees added single runs in the fifth and sixth to take control of the game.
