No, I do not know how much Prince you've been listening to lately.
Let me tell you: a lot.
1. “Lousy Connection” – Ezra Furman - Perpetual Motion People
2. “Electric Love” – BØRNS - Candy
3. “The Old Rugged Cross” – Alan Jackson - Precious Memories
4. “Have You Ever Seen The Rain” – CCR - The Long Road Home
5. “New Soul” – Yael Naim - Yael Naim
6. “Hotel Song” – Regina Spektor - Begin To Hope
7. “Hard Sun” – Eddie Vedder - Into The Wild Soundtrack
8. “Green Eyes” – Coldplay - A Rush Of Blood To The Head
9. “Fake Plastic Trees” – Radiohead - The Bends
10. “Rushing” – Moby - Play
B: “Just Breathe” – Pearl Jam - Backspacer
This list is courtesy of Pandora’s “Thumbprint” station. I feel like it’s a good selection, but it always weirds me out that they seem to group songs. Like I’ll get multiple female indie pop artists together, then multiple old timey country western together, etc. Anyone else notice this?
Also, re: #9. I used to not like Radiohead except for a few select songs. I’ve really been coming around on them lately. Nothing that’s quite catchy enough for me to seek it out, but every time I’m listening I’m enjoying.
No random list today because I'm listening to new Angel Olsen. I like it.
Also super pumped for DBT/Lydia in a few weeks. Should be getting the new DBT in the mail very soon...
Hey AMR , did you see the Sturgill Simpson dust up with the Country Music establishment regarding Merle. Good stuff. Of course Slate had the contrarian take.

The Slate take misses the point. This wasn't just another "Bro country sucks" rant. This was someone standing up for someone that can't stand up for himself anymore. It was much more personal.
