Love this; it's one of my favorite rock & roll tunes. Chuck's channeling some Chet Atkins with those licks demonstrating how he wants the tune to sound.
Doc shared a great post on FB a couple days ago of Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band taking an audience for this tune a few years back. Bruce, with an assist from Little Stephen, walked the band through an arrangement in front of a stadium full of fans. It was awesome.
(SHH! I've got that on tap for later...)
Whoops, sorry HJ. I deleted the video comment.
heh, no worries (no one reads these anyway 😉 ). I've had that in the queue for a bit, but we've got other things scheduled for the next few weeks.
Yea, that was an awesome clip. Glad you enjoyed it, CH.
Neat!
When I was a child, my mom would go with her friends to see Neil Diamond every time he came through MN.
I asked her if she ever went to any other concerts and she said no, only Neil.
A few minutes later she corrected herself that she had gone to see Chuck Berry in college.
It must have been around this time... I see "My Ding-a-Ling" (his only #1 single) was from 1972.
Wowza... he hasn't released a new album since 1979, but he's got a new one coming this year.
He just turned 90. (And he shares my birthday.)
I hope it sounds good.
I love these kinds of clips. Great pull.
This one reminds me of Pulp Fiction.
