I'm up too late and watching Chopped for some reason. How is everyone going to repurpose all of their leftovers? Points for originality (but stay away from the ice cream machine).

"repurpose the leftovers"? I eat them.
I fashion them into a crude ballista.
I had promised my daughter that we'd make ice cream to take to my sister's. Actually the promise was more specific than that... I promised pumpkin ice cream. Then, I forgot to make it. So yesterday morning, I simmered the ice cream (raw spices are a big no-no, thanks Chopped!) and put it into the refrigerator. When we got home, I churned the ice cream in my handy, dandy Cuisinart one quart ice cream maker. Whoa. It tastes like pumpkin pie, exactly. That is some darned good ice cream. And since I bought my cream and half-and-half at Costco, I have plenty left for another batch of ice cream (or three! or five!).
The Cuisinart ice cream maker is great. I love when we make cinnamon oreo ice cream.
Today, I am exactly as old as Lou Gehrig was for his last game: 13,099 days old.
You should consider yourself the luckiest guy on the face of the Earth!
Last year we whipped up turkey "carnitas" tacos, with white onion, cilantro, and salsa. Recommended.
I'd be making turkey neck gumbo today, but I didn't make the turkey so no left overs. /sadempji
I feel ya. I miss making the turkey, but I miss the leftovers even more.
Did someone say “turkey neck”?
I'd be making turkey soup, but (a) hobbled and (b) the Mrs threw out the carcass.
Well that was interesting. My daughter and a friend have been in Thailand and Bali all month and are about to head home. Only their original flights through China overextended them for a 24 hour transit without visa exemption by a few hours, and because they had a 2 hour layover in Shenzhen on the way to Seattle they're disqualified from the 72 hour TWOV exemption because second stop inside China. So, since her travelling companion has come down with a sinus infection they're coming home a day early, Denpasar to Xiamen to Shanghai to Seattle, and it's only costing dear old dad $600. First world problems, I know, but Christmas is coming and no GI Joe with the kung fu grip for Twayn this year, I guess.
Did they make it out? Best wishes.
I made Turkey soup in the evening last night. Used up Turkey, Turkey Stock and some extra veggies. Added a box of Wild/white Rice Blend with Quinoa Mix.
It was very good.
I've got both carcasses in a pot right now, planning to use some of it for turkey and wild rice soup tomorrow. I can't wait.
I just opened my phone with this comment showing and I was thinking I was in text messaging and I was trying to figure out who was texting me about carcasses.
