Last full day in Florida. I know people make fun of it, but this state IS a very strange place.

So the Basket and Ball Guys Tourney Brackef basically has three potential outcomes (I think)
Villanova wins the Final -- Freealonzo is winner
Villanova loses in Final -- CLD is the winner
Kansas wins or loses in the Finals -- James is the winner
I was ahead too long to be an also-ran! Damn wiener wattsy
Go Kansas! (But really, go Loyola!)
There is no gol-danged way I should in any way be relevant in this thing. Loony!
I picked for the office pool. I'm getting my $5 entry back on account of having the worst score from the whole pool.
I didn't even pick ridiculous teams. My final 4 was UNC over Duke, plus UVA and VTech.
Just went for reasonable results favoring teams in the states I had just driven through. (MN, WI, IL, IN, OH, WV, VA, NC). More weight if I drove through the city, stayed in the state, stayed nearby, etc.
Behind those teams, I favored teams in states I drove through on the trip two years earlier (KY, TN, SC).
TIL: Ryan LeMarre has pitched an inning in the bigs! He's gotta be a shoo-in for making the trip north now, right?!
Local boy Brett Graves has made the Marlins roster...on the DL. He did something to an oblique several days back when pitching against his hometown Cardinals, and hasn't pitched again since. But he didn't get returned to the A's, so he may get that cup of coffee (and hopefully more) yet.
Baseball Reference's Player of the Day has a decidedly Twins-connection:
The pitcher with the most Ks in an #OpeningDay game is today's PotD
What password manager do y’all recommend?
I’ve been using 1Password for years. They’re very good about updates that add features & maintain or improve the security of the app. Plus, if you want to share logins to accounts/services with Dr. Chop or other trusted folks, you can create a shared vault for those IDs/passwords. And, with the caveat of past performance & future results, unlike LastPass, 1Password has never exposed users’ data in a major security breach.
I use LastPass personally and professionally and highly recommend it. KeePass and 1Password are good too.
Also Two Factor all the things!!!! For real though.
I've used KeePass. I like it.
Anyone using KeePass, especially not on Windows, I recommend switching to KeePassXC. On Windows it's not as bad, but the upgrades (on all platforms) were done very poorly prior to last year so they lost my trust.
Word to meat: flying out of ABQ this afternoon. I could not convince my parents to go anywhere interesting for dinner last night. Sitting in Tia Juanita's at the airport, about to have lunch. Bet I could do with limited time.
My SiL took over the driving chores. They are on their way to Dodge City today.
There was a brewpub a half block from my hotel ("377”?) But I was too tired after driving all day to slip out after putting my parents to bed.
Also, we drove through Hatch yesterday but I could not convince them it would be worth stoping for a few minutes. Boo.
Give me their phone numbers so I can scold them.
As to breweries in abq, there are so. many. breweries. Some are outstanding, some are meh, but it’s a testament to not judging a book by its Albuquerque shaped cover.
I'm guessing Skinny Pete and Badger have cleaned up their act and now own a small brewery in ABQ. Perhaps selling a little weed on the side.
I want to put some blame on the players for failing to score/defend, but I’m now leaning towards the idea that what we’re seeing on the floor may be players actually executing his sets and schemes.
He did call a timeout down six with eleven seconds to go. The "play" he drew up involved Teague dribbling 35 feet from the hoop for several seconds will no movement until Crawford finally approached close enough to have the pass stolen.
so, fwiw, I just did this download (from my computer) and I don't see any of this.
Now, this could be because I don't have the FB app installed on my phone (haven't for several years), using it through the browser instead. Or because of whatever settings I'm using. Or because this piece is a little on the hysterical side.
I have no doubt that Bookface has a lot of data on me. More than enough to do some very sophisticated, micro-targetted advertising. But I ain't gonna start wearing a tinfoil hat.
It appears that this particular harvesting was conducted through their apps (Messenger*, in particular). So if you don’t use their apps, that might explain why you haven’t seen any of this data.
* I’ll note they have seriously deprecated access to their messages in the web interface for mobile since Messenger was released. Forcing people through that funnel, then being very opaque about data gathering in the screen authorizing use of contact/phone data, is pretty user-hostile.
Yea, that whole "you must use Messenger or Eff You" thing on mobile really pissed me off. I only fairly recently re-installed Messenger after having gone without it for at least a year. I may just remove it again.
Shoot, every stupid operation has other apps begging to be the default. Damn annoying.
CH is right. My understanding is that it was "only" for about a year, but they collected all metadata about calls and texts over that period, assuming you had the app installed on your phone.

Mr. Robot -- Yes/No? (or should I say 0/1?) I'm two episodes in and I'm intrigued. I was wondering if it's worth getting committed to.
First season is great, second season average, third season good/great again.
What sean said.
Agreed. And definitely worth the time commitment.
Wolves desperate for wins.
Memphis desperate for losses.
Tied at 59 at the half.
>:^\
This fourth quarter has been hideous. Taj Gibson should be furious with his teammates.
Gonna go scrub my eyes and ears.

classic
outscored 23-11 in the 4th.
hilarious.
If you actively use(d) Fakebooc & use an Android phone, it’s very possible your entire call & text history has been uploaded & indexed.
