Minor Details: Games of June 19

Byron Buxton gets off to a slow start on his rehab, but the Red Wings win anyway.   A big comeback for the Miracle.  Pedro Garcia and Moises Gomez lead the E-Twins to a victory.  Yeremi De La Cruz drives in nine runs to lead the GCL Twins.  A couple of big innings carry the DSL Twins.

ROCHESTER 4, SYRACUSE 3 IN ROCHESTER

Trailing 2-0, the Red Wings scored four in the third and led the rest of the way.  Jake Cave hit a two-run double in the inning.  The Chiefs had the tying run on third in both the fourth and the seventh.

Rochester was out-hit 10-6.  Byron Buxton, starting a rehab assignment, went 0-for-4.

Dietrich Enns pitched five innings, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks and striking out two.  D. J. Baxendale struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up two hits.  Luke Bard pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.  His ERA is 2.37.  John Curtiss struck out two in a perfect inning.  His ERA is 2.13.

CHATTANOOGA LOOKOUTS

No game scheduled.  In the Southern League all-star game, Omar Bencomo pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.  Williams Ramirez pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up two runs on two hits and striking out one.  Todd Van Steensel pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up one run on one hit.  The South defeated the North 9-5.

FORT MYERS 8, TAMPA 7 IN FORT MYERS

The Miracle trailed 5-0, but scored six in the third to take the lead.  The Tarpons bounced back with two in the fourth to go up 7-6, but Jaylin Davis singled home the tying run in the fourth and Lewin Diaz singled home the lead run in the sixth.

Travis Blankenhorn was 3-for-5 with two doubles, scoring twice and driving in two.  Caleb Hamilton was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Joe Cronin was 2-for-4 with a double and scored twice.  Luis Arraez was 2-for-5.  Shane Carrier was 0-for-4 with a walk.  His average is now .095.  Ben Rortvedt was 1-for-3 with a walk and is batting .318.

Tyler Watson pitched just 3.1 innings, allowing seven runs on eleven hits and no walks and striking out two.  Ryan Mason pitched 3.2 scoreless innings, giving up five hits and no walks and striking out three.  His ERA is 2.95.  Logan Lombana struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.  Tom Hackimer pitched a scoreless inning, striking out one.  His ERA is 2.51.

CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS

No game scheduled.  In the Midwest League all-star game, Royce Lewis was 1-for-2.  Alex Kirilloff was 1-for-4 with an RBI.  Jared Finkel pitched a scoreless inning, giving up two hits and striking out one.  The East defeated the West 3-2 in ten innings.

ELIZABETHTON 6, BURLINGTON 1 IN ELIZABETHTON

The Twins scored two in the fifth to take a 2-1 lead.  They added two in the seventh and two in the eighth.

Andrew Cosgrove was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and scored twice.  Ryan Jeffers was 2-for-3.  Lean Marrero was 2-for-4 with a double.  Ariel Montesino was 2-for-5 with a double.  Colton Burns was 1-for-2 with a double and two walks, scoring three times.

Pedro Garcia struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on two hits and five walks.  Moises Gomez struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Rickey Ramirez pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.

GCL TWINS 15, GCL ORIOLES 2 AT ORIOLES

Tyler Webb hit a two-run double in a four-run third that put the Twins up 6-2.  The Twins scored three in the fourth and four in the fifth to put the game out of reach.

Yeremi De La Cruz was 5-for-6 with a home run and two doubles.  He scored twice and drove in nine runs.  Yeltsin Encarncaion was 3-for-4 with a walk and three runs.  Victor Tademo was 3-for-5 with a walk and three runs.  Agustin Marte was 2-for-5 with two runs.  Alberoni Nunez was 1-for-5 with a walk and is batting .333.

Felix Jorge, on a rehab assignment, started and pitched one inning, giving up an unearned run on one hit and no walks.  Tyler Benninghoff struck out six in five innings, giving up one run on two hits and four walks.  Petru Balan struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Frandy Torres retired all four batters he faced, striking out two.

DSL TWINS 13, DSL CARDINALS BLUE 4 AT TWINS

Nomar Urdaneta hit a two-run single in a four-run fourth that put the Twins up 4-2.  The Twins scored two in the fifth and six in the sixth to put the game out of reach.

Jim Caceras was 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs.  He is batting .316.  Victor Heredia was 2-for-4 with a home run, his second.  He scored three times and is batting .366.  Brahiap Carrillo was 2-for-4 with a triple and a walk.  He scored twice, drove in three, and is batting .300.  Ruben Santana was 1-for-4 and is batting .308.

Jesus Toledo struck out four in two innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on one hit and four walks.  Miguel Rodriguez struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up no hits and one walk.  Jose Guevera struck out six in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  His ERA is 0.87.
