Who knows how this will all shake out, but they were the best among their immediate peers (that were obviously good themselves), and that's pretty great.

Allen & Ginter baseball card sets are a throwback to an old style, and have been known to include tobacco card mini-size and oddball insert sets -- this year's has a card of my dad!
π€―π
Literally your dad?!
Dude, it's a generic painting
Of somebody's dad.
Unless it's one o' them bachelor farmers.
And maybe your father was the subject of it, how am I to know? π
because he's wearing coveralls and his hat isn't John Deere green?
That's how you know.
Jeff A needs a jeffA/Bear signal shortcode. Bears are recovering from being cool?

Cool bears are chillin'.
I see on the book of faces that former outfielder Jay Johnstone has passed away, but I can't find confirmation of it anywhere. Does anyone know?
It apparently is true.
Yeah, took quite a while for something official to show up
He sounds like he was a good guy. Leaves behind a wife to whom he was married for 52 years. COVID took his life, while dementia apparently took too much of him too soon.
B-Ref's simulated season ended with the Twins holding pretty much the same record, 97-65. Only difference was that Cleveland ended up in first at 98-64 while W.Sox were 78-84
Rogers gave up two runs in the simulated game too.
This was a swing and a miss. 4 out of ten.
I wonder if the feta is the note of discord there. Pecans, raspberries and spring mix ought to go great with turkey and ham.
Good point. Our raspberry bushes have been going absolutely nuts this past month or so. I should experiment with some ham/turkey/raspberry sandwiches.
How did you get your raspberry bushes to grow nuts?
I love the flavor of raspberries, but hate the seeds (from years of them getting stuck in my braces as a kid, I suppose). But my parents make raspberry jelly and syrup from theirs....
My middle school years were spent living on a farm that had an apple orchard, concord grape vines and some big blackberry bushes. Juices, jams, jellies, apple butter, pies, cobbler and crisp every fall. We also had a huge garden so there were tons of beans and peas and corn and tomatoes, etc. to can and freeze. Mom's pressure cooker ran pretty much non-stop for about two weeks every fall.
I identified the problem. I thought I was buying smoked ham. I bought black forest. The turkey was cajun. That combo was, in a word, not good.
Hmm, black forest + cajun. That's like, what, Alsatian?
Where some of my folks came from. This flavor profile wouldnβt have pleased them.
You opened the Alsatian box: after 2018 trip to Alsace, I picked this up - I've made it several times this summer: The magic is the sauerkraut (Bubbies here or local store-bought in Marine), apples, vinegar, wine, and juniper berries. Authentic to serve with 3 kinds of mustard.
There's about 40 brands of Kielbasa at my grocery store in H-istan.
Awesome article on Albrecht DΓΌrer for everyone, especially E-6 and the Printer.
But not for the rest of us?
π
OK I fixed it.

Ten, Nine, and J are back.
