It's been cloudy for days here unfortunately. I guess I can tune into Proxima Centauri.

Super interesting article on Sinclair, Fox Sports North and the move to app-based betting on games while you watch. However, how does this work, if these games aren't on HULU TV, YoutubeTV, etc.?
Sports betting is one of those things where I'm way out of my element. I can't tell if the people interested in it are SUPER interested and it seems like a bigger deal than it is or if it is over-hyped as a savior for sports viewing.
I've read articles like this one about just about every sport, NASCAR in particular talked about how it would ignite interest from a younger demographic. Based on ratings, I can't see that it came to fruition.
Reading in the article that 2.2% of people can't gamble with moderation, this big push feels gross to me. But does it turn me off enough to stop watching? Probably not, and that's what they're betting on, pun intended.
My biggest fear would be to have it creep into the enjoyment of the game. I don't want the play-by-play guy talking about the over/under while I'm watching a game.
Right. I want a missed FG to be a missed FG, not hundreds of thousands of $$ changing hands.
That has already happened with fantasy leagues.
True, but it rarely becomes a topic of conversation of the announcers. I don't care how others enjoy the game and long as it doesn't encroach on my enjoyment.
The NBA season starts tonight after just, I think 71 days since the last game of last year. Most of the games, but not all, will be played in empty arenas. The pre-season games I saw had the wide open areas under the basket and along the far sideline. That really changed play a lot in my opinion and for the better. Looking forward to watching basketball again.
I'm looking forward to watching Ricky tomorrow. (I skipped preseason).
My attempts at a photo of the conjunction failed; my best pic ended up from Sunday night. We did however get to see quite a bit (yes, Mike, we definitely saw Titan this time around), and I also showed the neighbors Mars, Pleiades, and the moon. Using Selective Focus on my phone did a real decent job of making my moon pics reasonably clean looking.
into vs. in to, a primer. Unlike some others, this is not a grammar situation that trips me up.
Nor I. I was trying to be passive with my commentary
You can take the boy out of Minnesota....
😛
A boy can be taken out of Minnesota....
NHL starts Jan. 13 - the Wild will spend a lot of the 2021 season in California. Playing a 56 game season against 7 other teams.
WEST Division
Minnesota
St. Louis
Colorado
Las Vegas
Arizona
San Jose
Anaheim
Los Angeles
Schedule supposed to come out later this week (maybe tomorrow, per Russo).
Kind of funny that this division has the three best teams in the Western Conference last year and also 5 of the bottom 6 in the conference.
Since the top 4 in the division make the playoffs, I think it's safe to assume the Wild will somehow sneak in as the lowest seed even as they try to start a rebuild.
Because "I think it's safe to assume" and Minnesota sports usually works out so well.
It actually does. Well, you know, should you fall on the pessimistic side of things...
Point taken.
Ex-Twin Sam Fuld rumored to be the next Phillies GM.
It's official and..
former Twins GM Terry Ryan will move into the special assistant role from his past position as a Phillies special assignment scout.
Super Glue and Me.
So I have this tiny project that requires a tiny amount of superglue.
First I try all of the open superglue containers in the shoebox where we keep this stuff. All of them are petrified. Remember to toss them.
Then get the new super glue thingy out, unscrew the cap, and look around for something pointy to break the foil membrane. Only finding a drywall screw, I gingerly poke the screw into the filament. When it breaks, the pressure causes the superglue to exude out on to the newspaper. I dab a thing into the spill to finish my project. Meanwhile several fingers on both hands have somehow gotten superglue on the fingertips, and they try to stick together.
Later, I've found that my project has somehow gotten stuck to the paper its lying on.
This always happens.
Typically the cap itself had a pointy portion where if you flip it around you can use it to puncture the inner seal, but I see that was much too convenient and apparently went the way of the dinosaurs; very few do that now.
Céspedes to the CSox.
It's the younger half brother of Yeonis but still a good get.

This club is, as always, feel-good.
He seems nice.
Is it "into" or "in to"? Poll!!
