Gramps would have been 96 today. He grew a mean beard towards the end.

I just saw a trailer for Licorice Pizza and I'm really confused. No super heroes, not a sequel, and as far as I can tell us not a remake. I must be missing something.
And only one Haim, what's up with that?
Finally made it home last night, making that my longest time outside of the country. If you have the opportunity to visit Costa Rica, take it!
*On a related note: I reached out Tuesday to former Minnesota Timberwolves general manager David Kahn, who passed on Curry twice and used that draft’s fifth and sixth picks on point guards Ricky Rubio and Jonny Flynn. I wanted to know how Kahn has processed this week.
"I would be happy to talk to you just as soon as you talk to the Clippers (Blake Griffin), Memphis (Hasheem Thabeet), Sacramento (Tyreke Evans) and especially Washington, which traded the No. 5 pick to me straight up for Randy Foye and Mike Miller and could have drafted Curry fifth," Khan texted back.
two things:
1. quite frankly, outside of the Clippers, he's got a point.
2. Thibs, and probably Rosas, were worse GMs than Kahn.

They've all been so awful that it is difficult to say.
I know Curry said he wouldn't sign here so Kahn does have that excuse.
I think I would rank Thibs as the very worst. He destroyed the future of the roster for one miserable playoff year. Least fun I've ever had watching a winning team.
FWIW, Tyreke Evans was ROY. His career VORP of 13.1 slightly exceeds Ricky Rubio's 12.9, although Ricky is still active.
Foye and Miller had a combined VORP after the trade of 8.0. So, I guess you could say Kahn "won" that trade (although he had to wait 2 years to get anything from Ricky).
Flynn's career -1.9 VORP sticks out like a sore thumb.
At least as relevant for the discussion, besides passing on Curry, he passed on DeMar DeRozan (9th, 20.6 career VORP), Brandon Jennings (10th, 11.8), Jrue Holiday (17th, 22.3), Jeff Teague (19th, 14.3) and Darren Collison (21st, 13.5).
he also took Ty Lawson (18th, 13.6). but dumped for a future 1st-round bust (Luke Babbitt, whom he traded to get Martell Webster).
That is a lot of middling-quality or better PGs (plus a shooting guard in DeRozan) that turned out to be much better than Johnny F. Flynn.
Just to be a jerk, I will point out that Andrew Wiggins was a ROY as well.
at least Evans had a positive VORP while doing it.
giving that award to Wiggins was absurd. Mirotić was far more deserving.
Indeed. More absurd was giving Wiggins a max contract.
ayyup.
I'm Gleeman's most recent article, he goes through all the one year contracts they've given to kitchens under The current front office.
$53.3M
486 IP
5.67 ERA
Ouch!
auto corrected?
Totally intentional 😉
Pitchers but kitchens
Hayes' mailbag had a lot of cranky questions about lack of pitching and the front office not signing any good free agents, but maybe they shouldn't be spending on pitching in the first place.
What do you do when you haven't developed much pitching?
