not if you celebrate MLK Day instead
The Banker gets both.
My weekend does not start until Tuesday 😐
Three day weekends should be the norm. I'd rather work four 10-hour days than five 8-hour days.
YES!...but...kids. So many days we're starting activities before 5p. Choices, of course, but the pressure to be there/do everything as parent these days feels relentless. Lots of consternation and hand wringing at our house about who should be working when and where.
Our school missed on this one too, so next weekend we're ending up with a weird 5 day weekend. I don't know who made this calendar.
Closing ceremonies and I don't think I watched more than 3 hours of Olympic coverage. It did not pique my interest this time around. Mrs. Twayn watched at least 2-3 hours every night, though, so she brings the household average up quite a bit.
I also picked up the slack for you by watching a lot of curling and skiing.
I watched the last 3 stones each of the last end of the ladies' bronze medal match. That's it. The entirety of my Olympics was 6 stones.
I watched a little bit of every sport, but a lot of hockey and curling. It was nice waking up and watching live sports.
When I told the Poissonnière that the Olympics were over and wouldn’t be back for four years, she burst into tears. Granted, it was after an afternoon of tearing around a neighborhood park with her classmates, birthday treats, and presents from family at home. But she has really enjoyed watching an event or two each night. She informed me this weekend she wants to go to the Olympics for curling…and bobsled.
I loved watching curling, of course, but the other events I particularly enjoyed this year were ski cross and women’s luge.
It's downright tropical outside
Right? The bottom of my driveway is a foot of slush.
The wife went grocery shopping. While she was out, a Girl Scout came by and I bought six boxes of cookies from her. When Mrs. Twayn got home she had four boxes of cookies from the Girl Scout cookie stand at Cub Foods. The universe is on my side today.
I've been going back and forth and I've decided I'm going to try ushering with a full-time job this year. Assuming a full season the quota is 35 games. If I worked every weekend home series, Fri/Sat/Sun, I'd be right around 40 games. Can of corn. And I'd still have half of my weekends during the summer free.
