Minor Details: Games of July 1

A big comeback by the Saints.  It got late early for the Wind Surge and the Kernels.  Four home runs aren't enough for the Mighty Mussels.

ST. PAUL 4, OMAHA 3 IN ST. PAUL

The Saints scored all four of their runs in the ninth.  Braden Bishop singled home the winning run.

Jake Cave was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his ninth.

Ronny Henriquez struck out seven in 4.2 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and three walks.
Jake Petricka pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.
Wladimir Pinto struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.

The Saints are 37-38, in sixth place in the International League West, a half-game behind fifth-place Indianapolis, eight games behind Nashville.

SPRINGFIELD 5, WICHITA 1 IN SPRINGFIELD

The Cardinals scored three runs in the first inning.

DaShawn Kiersey, Jr. was 2-for-4 with a double
Chris Williams was 2-for-4.
Edouard Julien was 1-for-3 with two walks.

Starter Sawyer Gipson-Long pitched four innings, allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk and striking out five.
Steven Cruz struck out four in two perfect innings.
Andrew Cabezas pitched two perfect innings, striking out one.

The Wind Surge is 2-2, tied for first with Arkansas, Springfield and Tulsa in the Texas League North.

WISCONSIN 12, CEDAR RAPIDS 9 IN WISCONSIN

The Timber Rattlers scored eight runs in the first inning.

Yunior Severino was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Seth Gray was 2-for-6 with a triple.

Opener Bradley Hanner did not retire a batter, allowing seven runs on four hits and three walks.  His ERA went from 2.03 to 4.06.
Tyler Palm pitched 2.1 innings, giving up three hits and striking out one.
Derek Molina struck out two in 1.2 innings, giving up a walk.
Catcher Frank Nigro struck out two in a scoreless innings, giving up two walks.

The Kernels are 2-5, in fifth place in the Midwest League West, one game behind third-place Beloit and Quad Cities, five games behind South Bend.  The Kernels won the first-half championship.

DUNEDIN 8, FORT MYERS 5 IN FORT MYERS

The Blue Jays scored five in the third to take a 5-0 lead.

Dillon Tatum was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth) and a double.
Mikey Perez was 1-for-4 with a home run, his sixth.
LaRon Smith was 1-for-2 with a home run.
Zach Huffins was 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and a walk.

Starter Jaylen Nowlin pitched 2.2 innings, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks and striking out two.
Johnathan Lavallee pitched two shutout innings, giving up on hit and three walks and striking out one.

The Mighty Mussels are 1-5, in sixth (last) place in the Florida State League North, a half-game behind fifth-place Clearwater, 3.5 games behind Dunedin and Tampa.
