The Twins have had five days off, play two in Detroit, get a day off, play two in Milwaukee, then get another day off before playing ten days in a row (three in San Diego, seven at home).
At what point will we hear that the bullpen is overworked?
With a trade deadline in the middle of all that, I hope we hear the FO is overworked.
I signed up for 9 games in August, so I know I'm going to be overworked. But in a good way.
It will probably be paywalled [sorry), but this is a fantastic article on the while Dave Chappell issue from this week.
I couldn't read it. I'm pretty firmly on one side of the issue.
With due respect to Chappell's talent, I much prefer it when jesters lampoon the powerful rather than the vulnerable.
That particular Netflix stand-up was pretty bad. I have no problem with people saying, "I won't watch or listen to that person." I do have a problem with people saying, "No one should be able to watch or listen to that person."
Will First Ave start monitoring lyrics of songs that are sung at their shows? I'm sure I've heard just as bad or worse from a number of artists that have played there.
Same page. I'm pretty opposed to censorship no matter what direction it's coming from.
He wasn't censored. He just couldn't perform on that stage and they moved the show to a theater a few miles away with the same number of seats.
He can say what he wants and people can choose to listen or not and venues can choose to book him or not.
Bingo.
Yes. Management set rules on who can perform. Management then broke their rules when booking an act. Labor did a wildcat strike to hold management accountable to its own rules. This isn't about giving an act the hook but not booking an act they know will break the rules.
The lyrics to Via Chicago by Wilco also violate those rules.
From the article:
It applies to audience members, employees and performers and specifically forbids “acting or speaking in a discriminatory manner or using racist, sexist, ableist, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic or other biased language, including intentional misgendering.”
Does the song violate those rules and is it likely that Wilco would play that song? If yes to both, then Wilco should not be booked. My quick read of the lyrics says no to the former but I don't pay attention to lyrics very well.
I was referring to the violence.
Thielbar to IL, Cano being called up.
No Buxton in the lineup today...
Trade him and Correa!
#MNTwins' Byron Buxton had a PRP injection in his right knee on Wednesday; that's the platelet-rich injection that promotes healing. He will be unavailable for at least this two-game series in Detroit. More soon ...

Guardians 2 in a row against Pale Hose. I think that's what I want but hard to tell
Cool photo on FB of the living HOFers together that were Twins. Wait - is Steve Carlton dead?!?
Maybe he doesn't go to Cooperstown every year
(maybe they didn't invite him)
