Minor Details: Games of July 22

The minor leagues are back!  Christian Encarnacion-Strand continues to rake at AA.  A good game for Marco Raya.

ST. PAUL 9, INDIANAPOLIS 8 IN INDIANAPOLIS (10 INNINGS)

A sacrifice fly brought home the deciding run.

Tim Beckham was 3-for-5.
Jermaine Palacios was 2-for-5 with a grand slam (his sixth homer) and five RBIs.
David Banuelos was 2-for-5 with a double.

Ronny Henriquez pitched four innings, giving up two runs on four hits and one walk and striking out five.
Evan Sisk struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up three walks.
Ian Hamilton struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

The Saints are 43-46, in seventh place in the International League West, one game behind sixth-place Gwinnett, 11.5 games behind Nashville.

WICHITA 7, TULSA 3 IN TULSA

The Wind Surge scored four in the third to take a 5-0 lead.

Christian Encarnacion-Strand was 3-for-5.
Nash Knight was 3-for-5 with a double.
Edouard Julien was 2-for-5 with a double, a walk, and two runs.
DaShawn Keirsey, Jr. was 2-for-5.

Casey Legumina struck out three in 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and a walk.
Cody Laweryson struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

The Wind Surge is 12-7, in first place in the Texas League North, one game ahead of Springfield.

PEORIA 9, CEDAR RAPIDS 7 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

The Chiefs scored five in the third to take an 8-3 lead.

Pat Winkel was 3-for-5 with four RBIs.
Jake Rucker was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, and two runs.
Alerick Soularie was 2-for-5 with a double.
Kyler Fedco was 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs.

Starter Aaron Rozek pitched 2.1 innings, allowing eight runs (six earned) on seven hits and two walks and striking out one.
Hunter McMahon retired all five men he faced, striking out three.
Ryan Shreve struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.
Matt Mullenbach pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out one.

The Kernels are 12-10, tied for second with Wisconsin in the Midwest League West, three games behind South Bend.

FORT MYERS 3, DUNEDIN 2 IN DUNEDIN

Kala'i Rosario doubled home the deciding run in the eighth inning.

Keoni Cavaco was 2-for-4 with a triple.
Rubel Cespedes was 2-for-4 with a double.
Frank Nigro was 0-for-1 with three walks.

Marco Raya struck out five in four shutout innings, giving up two hits.
Malik Barrington struck out two in a perfect inning.

The Mighty Mussels are 8-11, in fifth place in the Florida State League West, a half-game behind fourth-place Lakeland, five games behind Tampa.
