My dad would have been one hundred years old today. I don't mean this to sound like a request for sympathy--he lived a long and good life, and I'm confident about where he is now. But it's still a thing, and I just felt the need to mention it somewhere.
My mom's birthday was the 21st of December. She would have been 74. We always do something as a family to celebrate. Now that the kids are in college and have finals that week, we celebrate it a week late. Going to Christmas Carol at the Guthrie this year.
Definitely worth noting. Always worth noting.
After all my travails getting flights to ABQ, just learned that my son's (and his gf's) flights (from NYC, where they are visiting her Mom) have been cancelled. They were supposed to get in today. Now the earliest they could get to SF is the 29th. Fuuuuck.
So mrsS gave him permission to cancel and just go home to LA. 😢🥺
(Also, Happy first day of Kwanzaa and a Merry Boxing Day to any Limeys and/or Canucks in the house.)
I now celebrate Boxing Day, but it just means I cut up all the cardboard boxes that have accumulated in the garage for a month.

(My trash/recycling day is now Wednesday....)
Just picked up the last two homer hankies from the framers; this completes the set of 14...until the next postseason, whenever that might be.
The Mrs. got me nice whisky for Xmas and is also taking the kids out for shopping and dinner tonight while I stay home and build Ikea furniture. Looks like I'm McNultying it tonight.
What kind hooch?
Hopefully the kind that can smooth the frustration of building Ikea furniture.
That substance is certainly controlled by the federal government.
Hopefully the kind that can smooth the finish on Ikea furniture.
I got the new snow blower assembled and gave it a shakedown cruise. The driveway is four feet wider than it was this morning and the mailman can actually reach the mailbox again. The heated handles and headlight are a real treat.
