Not sure I want to watch the Twins muddle through three games in Toronto either.

I went to The Cure concert last night.
There's a reason I usually avoid weeknight concerts.
Zack Greinke once threw Joey Votto nothing but hanging sliders because he believed Votto recognized spin better than anyone in baseball—and he knew Votto would expect the pitch to break out of the zone.
Greinke threw a slider that spun aimlessly across the top of the zone. Votto took it for a strike. Greinke threw another cement-mixer at the belt. Votto took it again.
Greinke was with the Diamondbacks from 2016 through midway of 2019. Mathis was with the Diamondbacks in 2017 and 2018. Greinke did not face Cincinnati in 2016, 2018, or 2019. He did pitch against them twice in 2017 and Mathis caught both games. His two games were at home on July 7, 2017 and in Cincinnati on July 19.
On July 7, Greinke faced Votto three times. Only in the third plate appearance were there two called strikes and it ended the plate appearance. Doesn't quite fit because it ended the plate appearance but close.
On July 19, Greinke faced Votto three times again. Again, only in the third plate appearance were there two called strikes, this time to start the plate appearance: called strike, ball, called strike, ball, ball in play. Without checking the pitch data, I think it was this one.

I looked it up.
Perhaps the statistician was just as confused as Votto and mistook the hanging sliders in the strike zone for fastballs.
