  1. We placed Mom A into hospice care yesterday. She surprised us by starting to eat a little again--not enough to be a turning point or anything, but enough to make us think we might have her with us a little longer than I anticipated. Maybe not, too--that's in God's hands. But we'll take it a day at a time and treasure every day we have with her.

  2. I know the national war on drugs has been a failure, but I also know that a number of my friends are excited about this tour.

  3. start planning that Madison road trip

Driving onto the Isthmus from the Far East Side can be a real beast.

Happy to share recommendations for anyone seeking vittles or libations.

      1. Two favorite dinner options are Ahan & the Tip Top Tavern. Mint Mark is delicious but might be hard to get into & a bit pricey. Madison Sourdough has a good breakfast/brunch/lunch menu. La Taguara has two locations and some awesome food from across the Latin Caribbean. If you are on your own for lunch, the Caracas Arepas food cart on UW’s Library Mall is a fantastic option.

Don’t waste your time & money at the Old Fashioned; it’s a tourist trap.

Also, if you’re in town to visit an institution mascoted by a mischievous musteloid, I’m happy to provide candid answers to questions.

        1. Thanks.

Yes. We are visiting the school you would expect.

I'd enjoy any info you can give me. Down to there, Loyola, and Wash U.

  4. I'll be working the Cali primary as an election judge (poll worker). So if you hear about shenanigans, you know whom to blame.

  5. Old friend alert:
