  1. Over the weekend neighborhood alerted me we had a giant bird perched on our roof. Went out to see a Great Blue Heron sitting on the roof over our bump-out. Majestic bird, but the @#%@#% ate all the fish in our pond. Sigh, circle of life I guess.

      1. Before I get any more fish I'm going to have to Heron proof the pond, a friend who has a pond says once they find a food source they'll keep coming back.

          1. Not to take a winking comment too seriously but... check out the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Generally a very bad idea to harm non-sport birds.

              1. Many years ago while driving to Brainerd a blue heron flew across the road near Royalton and got clipped by the car ahead of me, so this huge bird came tumbling through the air and I'm heading right for it, I mean, that bird was going to smash my windshield if I didn't swerve out of the way. So I swerved and got lucky there was nobody in the other lane because there was no time to look. It shook me up so bad I pulled over at the first opportunity to have a cigarette and let some adrenaline wear off.

  2. Gleeman had this bad news about Brooks Lee today:

Lee has been diagnosed with a herniated disc and is being treated by California spine and back specialist Dr. Robert G. Watkins... According to a team source briefed on the situation, Lee is about three weeks into a two-month rehab plan. There’s optimism within the organization that he’ll be able to resume playing this season...

        1. A player needs ten years of service to fully vest but they only need 43 days to get anything. Tonkin was at 3.074 at the beginning of the year. There might be another level at the four year mark so he needs 99 days of service this year.

    1. My wife and in-laws are there today. I had to text them what happened, the crowd was very lost as to what had happened

    2. Someone tweeted that the fans should now have to manage for the rest of the game.

      1. I like the visual confirmation that there aren’t even enough rich dingdongs in New York to fill the seats within the moat for a beautiful day game against an opponent that practically guarantees a win.
