  1. No Twins on TV. What a cluster...

Now I haven't had Twins games for a couple of years because I'm non YouTube TV. I've survived. But this really hurts by 80-something parents who would watch religiously every day the Twins are on. They aren't going to sign up for FUBU or Direct TV or figure out some streaming service. And I don't think they will listen on the radio (I'm not sure they have one).

While not exactly the Twins fault, and this hits 15 MLB markets I think, Pohlads still taking some hits. Basically everyone saw this coming but instead of doing something different with their broadcasts this year, they took the $40m, slashed payroll, and crossed their fingers.

    1. Aye, for the team to say they have no involvement is really disingenuous. They took the easy way out at the expense of the fans.

    2. This is absolutely the Twins fault. They signed up with Bally's knowing the issues. They agreed to not allow streaming. They have no excuse.

      1. I think especially because they, reportedly, had opportunities to try something new with an entity like Prime. Their fear of spending a little extra money and their fear of trying a new broadcast approach have both really dampened the excitement that could be existing.

Thankfully the players on the field seem to be doing their part to offset ownership's deficiencies.

        1. I always wonder how much MLB interfered with the negotiations. One team signing somewhere weird makes it a lot harder for MLB to, again, sell an over-the-top bundle that includes every team.

      2. Okay, so Fubo will still be showing BS North and I can still see all the games. No worries.

  2. Ominous tweet by Dan Hayes (and all the other beat writers). Completely new pitcher suddenly called up.

    1. I had never heard of him until this year, but I see he appeared in one game for Milwaukee last year. He's done decently enough in St. Paul, but he's thirty, so he should. The only thing I can guarantee is that he'll be the best pitcher named "Boushley" in the major leagues.

    1. For the second time. The guy’s calming presence on the moodier players is worth the price tag. All those threes are a bonus.
