Okay, I’m good on wandering around for hours in the humid 100 degree heat.

Tomorrow me and some friends bike from Madison to New Glarus where we'll be camping for two days. I have no idea what the hell we are thinking.
More bad news. The brewery is closed on weekends, no tours, no tasting.
Not so much bad news for me (although my New Glarus bike jersey is not so relevant to me anymore), but I think we're planning on going there tomorrow when its open.
Today I begin four days of public address announcing, as Pierre hosts the South Dakota Class A Junior Legion baseball tournament. Fifteen games in four days! You can't beat fun at the old ballpark!
Do you have any signature tag lines? Like “Hey Everybody!”, “All Rise, Here Comes the Judge”, "Giancarlo, non si può de stoparlo! “, “What does mama bear on the pill have in common with the World Series? ” (OK so that’s dated), “Holy Cow”, etc.?
"This is the old lefthander, rounding third and headed for home."
There's not as much chance to do that on public address, although Bob Casey always found a way. So far, it's just been welcoming people to "beautiful Hyde Stadium" and telling them to "please drive carefully on your way home". I do have some fun with the names, though.
Do you review name pronunciations with the teams ahead of time?
Me thinks the Padre can handle the pronunciation of “Swanson”, “Johnson”, and “Larson” without assistance. 😀
Good lord, MN State officials couldn't properly pronounce "Fertile" (?) or "Beltrami" at state tournaments, let alone player names.
There were "Stene" players on three neighboring towns where I grew up, and all three pronounced their surnames differently.
Yeah I've been out here in H'istan for 22 clicks now, and I still get corrected every time I try to pronounce Quinnipiac...
Sounds like substitute teachers calling roll in my hometown. You learned pretty quickly who was a fellow Pole and who couldn’t tell a Czapiewski from a Wojciechowski.
My wife has some Wojciechowski immigrants in her family (and Grzmokinsky).
There are a lot of people of German descent in South Dakota. Two of Pierre's best players are Sonnenschein and Schiefelbein. There are also a lot of people of Native American descent. My partner on the livestreams in Gettysburg is one of them. Occasionally we'll play a team who has players like Elk Soldier and Bear Stops, and he says, "Finally, some normal names!"
Sonnenschein and Schiefelbein and pray for wein!
I try to. Sometimes you don't get the chance. Living in South Dakota my whole life, I generally have an idea how names are pronounced. And if I miss one, someone will usually let me know .
