  1. If the White Sox get swept this weekend, they will join the ranks of the 1894 Louisville Colonels, 1906 Boston Americans, 1916 and 1943 Philadelphia Athletics, and the 1969 Montreal Expos in a tie for seventh longest losing streak in baseball. The longest, at 26 games, belongs to the 1889 Louisville Colonels, followed by the 1899 Cleveland Spiders (24). The 1890 Pittsburgh Alleghenys and 1961 Philadelphia Phillies are tied for third (23) longest feat of futility on record. The Philadelphia Athletics lost 22 straight games in their inaugural season in 1890 to hold the fifth spot, and the 1988 Baltimore Orioles started their season with a 21 game losing streak, with the last three of those losses coming at the hands of the Minnesota Twins.

    1. I remember that Orioles streak. In spite of the length of it by the time they played the Twins, winning odds were still in Twins' favor each of the games.

  2. Blackburn!?

    1. Blackburn had an 11-11 W/L record that season, and the Twins went 16-17 in games he started, 71-59 in games he didnt start. Wild.

      1. I was at the spring training game the day after his extension, watching pre-game interviews with him. Little did we know (but should have guessed)
