  1. That one is virtually sold out, I looked at the seating map for available tickets and there's nothing but scattered upper deck nosebleeds left, and no more than a few hundred of those. And you can't gauge how many SRO tix are floating out there, so 40,000+ is very likely.

  2. I really want to see one of the Basilica Block Party artists. Unfortunately, they play at 4:00 today and minimum cost is $109 plus fees.

I'll just wait until they come to Fine Line for half the price.

    1. I have an electric and three batteries, which is fine for most work around the house and much quieter, but if you have to cut up a whole downed three or something. gas is the way to go.

      1. As someone with a recently downed tree, my electric chainsaw would have been enough but might have required multiple cuts for the main trunk. However, a neighbor ended up doing all the fun work cutting into sections with his gas chainsaw while I got the grunt work of hauling.

    2. I got my grandpa's old chainsaw a few years ago, and I love it. One of the best things is that it sat in a garage for ~20 years before I got it and started up like a champ, so I feel confident that nothing I will do is likely to be too detrimental to it.

      1. Old two-stroke motors are nearly indestructible with proper maintenance and a valve job every 20 years. You may wreck chains and bars but the motor is likely to outlive you.

      2. My dad had a ginormous Maul (err, "Mall"), and neither he nor my brother wore ear protection back in the 1970s when they were cutting down trees on the lake property.

Unrelatedly (coincidentally!), they both have significant hearing loss....

  3. Bringing a group of 12 to the Twins game on Sunday to celebrate my son's 25th birthday. Twayn... are you working that day?

The "real" birthday present was yesterday. The boy is going back to school, so I moved him, and his girlfriend, from Alex to Fargo. Both locations on the 2nd floor. The morning move out was 70 degrees and super humid. I had to change into fresh clothes before driving to Fargo. The Fargo end of the move was 92 degrees, sunny, humid and no wind. That was brutal.

    1. Every day this trip so far has been extremely sunny with highs of at least 97 while being humid as hell. All with all day outside excursions. It has been brutal. I think I’ve consumed and sweated out at least an Olympic sized pool of water. I’m heading up north today and hoping for some relief. High is “only” 88 up there.

      1. You need to introduce your family to the catchphrase I learned from the MN state history day coordinator on trips to Washington, DC, when we stayed in un-air conditioned dorms: "The hotter it is, the better we like it!"

    2. Sorry I didn't see this earlier, zooms. I was working today, sections 101-102 way down first base line. BTW, I have a nephew at NDSU, he'll be a senior this year, my little brother's oldest boy.
