October 8, 2024: Pac-Man Fever

I took the boy to the library and we found out there was an exhibit of the history of arcade games in the lobby. There were about 15 old classic arcade games that you could play for free, so the boy and I played a lot of them together. I even got to play Joust!

          1. Yes. I don't really know anything about it but thought I'd share another opinion.

I also read somewhere that the owner of the Jets used to be an embassador to the UK and was upset they didn't win in London but they sounds a little ridiculous.

I'm guessing Aaron Rodgers got him fired.

  1. Did anyone ever watch the BBC 3-episode Dracula series? It's from 2020 but streaming on Netflix. Same creators that did Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch.

The first episode was super creepy. I love the Dracula story and will be interested in how they fill out the story.

    1. I like this move if only to eliminate Diamond/Bally from the equation. If it gives them more control of distribution and spreads the viewership net wider then I'm for it.

        1. My understanding is you need a team-specific subscription to watch within the broadcast area. Outside of that area it will work as normal. That is how the other teams worked for the 2024 season.

  2. Definitely not as great as playing those games free at the library, but my kids and I loved going to the Pinball Hall of Fame when we were in Las Vegas a few years ago.

TONS of pinball and old-school video games, and all are playable. We spent an hour and a half there for about $30 worth of quarters. Super cool.

    1. On our way to Itasca this summer we stopped at the Purple Parlor in Sauk Centre, which had a room with probably 10 or so arcade games, plus foosball, air hockey, etc. - all free to play. Some of them might technically have been emulators, not original machines, but they worked just fine. Mortal Kombat and Simpsons games were a highlight for me.

Plus the ice cream and candy shop part was a blast.
