My dad was in the poultry business and we ate a lot of deviled eggs. My wife makes them just as good as my mother did. I intend to eat many, many more before I'm through.
I don't see it that way. It's not like they're scrapping the old formula or anything. I've tried (and really liked) Canada Dry's Ginger Ale Bold, as well as Coca-Cola Spiced, and other funky offerings. Hey, sometimes they work, and if not...meh. Life would be sadder if no one created Cherry Coke.
Been a hell of a week. Haircut on Tuesday. Went way longer than I should have. Night before I had an epic hive event (thanks Covid). Had to tell my barber to go gently as my entire head was covered in break through. Saw my allergist Wednesday and she prescribed Xolair which will do the trick…..next week. Then off to PT to deal with a nagging shoulder injury. I have full rom but severe pain when elevating my arm above my head with palm up. Necessary for swinging a sword and most aikido technique. Working on being not old is hard.
Took the acs chem 2 final tonight. Brutal. Gouge my eyes out. Ksp, go eff yourself and take pH conversions with you.
Employee returned to work from rehab last Monday. This Monday he sowed up (probably) loaded. I really, really like this human, but it’s clear he rode out rehab with no intention of staying sober. He’s put up roadblocks to progress that are leading to me building a case to fire him. He’s made no effort and is slipping at the job. I know he wants me to be the bad guy and is grasping at excuses (saw my ex… too depressed…. Trying really hard… I hate the holidays…. Don’t know what to do…. It’s my cat keeping me awake at night….). Ugly days ahead.
I never imagined myself managing people when I was an academic. It's a lot harder than it looks, presuming you actually try. Too many don't put much effort into it.
Yesterday, the PT had me walking with almost normal gate and almost no weight on the walker. Well ahead of schedule, although it is still too uncomfortable sitting on our sofa (too low).
Oh, and I had my first "action" in the bathroom since before the surgery. I texted my wife at work yesterday that what she was feeling was not, in fact, an aftershock from the Eureka earthquake.
Oh man, I love deviled eggs, one of life's greatest pleasures.
* hands over my plate *
when I my dad brings them over for Christmas it's all I can do to not eat like 12 and ruin my appetite for dinner
Yeah, this is what I'm referring to.
I've had mediocre deviled eggs where 1 or 2 is just fine. My dad's are like candy
You sure you're not talking about Cadbury?
Getting close to when I can start stocking up on those. I was able to buy enough to last several months, just long enough until I got tired of them.

Co-sign. We only have them for special occasions, but they are like crack to me.
In case anyone was wondering, Creamy Coconut Dr Pepper is interesting.
I think an R&D person at Dr Pepper had a Malibu Doc and decided to roll with it, but add 25% more Hawaiian Topic
I love these how-can-we-screw-up-a-classic-product spinoffs. It proves that private enterprise is every bit as messed up as the public sector.

I heard the guy who did was a real jerk.
har
There's a reason they don't scrap the old formula anymore. *cough* New Coke. *cough*
yeah, THAT was a debacle

Yeah, this is why I have no real desire to manage people. I'm fine being a functional hack with no power over colleagues' lives.

amen. Now if I could get the other middle managers in my institution to just .... try .... a little ...
I was very anti-chem throughout all of my schooling.
Also, more later, but I dropped your name.
Dr. Chop requested a sword. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
Ours should be arriving today already. Custom job and everything.
Surgery+nearly 4 days.

All positive checkpoints!
