March 26, 2025: (Don’t) Disclose This!

Trying to create new business means having to go through new NDAs. I know we're lousy with lawyers around here, but I don't know how you can go through all these documents. I start getting sleepy the moment the legalese touches my eyeballs.

  1. Mostly I just grumble about all the other attorneys for creating more work for me.

The old joke proves true: If there's 1 attorney in a town, he'll starve. If there's 2, they'll feast.

        1. They were pretty prominent in the temperance movement. Brother Welch made sure that the Methodist church conducted communion with the unspoiled fruit of the grape instead of wine, but that may have been a case of personal interest over dogma.

  2. I was told in a conversation last week, “Oh, the person teaching [a class I’m planning to take] in the fall is on the Law School faculty; they assign a lot of case law.”

I enjoyed reading law review articles as primary sources; not so sure how I’ll feel about case law.

  3. Local card shop mentioned yesterday that 2024 Topps Heritage High Number was going on sale today at 11AM. Their hobby boxes sell for $100, although on the second hand market they're already $170-ish, and he said if I could help him buy any that he'd take any that I could get. Of course Topps' website has to be working for that to happen :/

  4. I haven't mentioned this at WGOM but I have a radio show. Its through Macalester College WMCN 91.7 on Wednesdays from 6:00p to 8:00p. I co-host with a Macalester professor who teaches political theory. It's basically the two of us talking "big ideas." She brings the intellectual and philosophical underpinnings and I bring the "everyman" aspect to the discussion. We've done shows on poetry and creativity, friendship and tonight is about heroes, superheroes, and comics. Plus we throw in a little music as well. The show is called Where is My Mind.

It streams at http://www.wmcn.fm. Unfortunately it is only a live stream and unfortunately they aren't archived for later listening. It's a pretty bare bones college radio station. The radio signal is about a 2-3 mile radius from campus.
