Rochester 4, Pawtucket 2 in Rochester.  The Red Wings took a 3-0 lead after two and never trailed.  Jeff Bailey had two doubles.  Dustin Martin had two hits.  Liam Hendriks went eight innings, giving up just one run on three hits and no walks.  Kyle Waldrop allowed a run on a hit in one inning to get the save.

Richmond 8, New Britain 4 in Richmond.  The Flying Squirrels led 3-1 after five, then scored two in the sixth and three in the seventh to put it away.  Joe Benson and Chris Parmelee each had two hits.  Spencer Steedley took the loss, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks in five innings.  Reading lost in thirteen innings to Akron, so the Rock Cats remain a half game up in the race for the last playoff spot.

Ft. Myers 11, St. Lucie 7 in St. Lucie.  The Miracle led 6-1 after four, fell behind 7-6 after six, but then scored three in the seventh and two in the eighth.  Angel Morales had four hits and scored three times.  Aaron Hicks singled, doubled, and tripled.  Oswaldo Arcia singled and homered, driving in three.  Starter Ricky Bowen gave up a run on four hits and no walks, striking out four in four innings.  Caleb Thielbar got his first professional win, working 3.1 scoreless innings while allowing only two walks.

Beloit 8, Peoria 3 in Beloit.  The Snappers scored in each of the first three innings, taking a 6-0 lead.  Michael Gonzales doubled and homered, his fifteenth.  Jairo Perez had two doubles, raising his average to .342, and scored three times.  Lance Ray hit a home run, his sixteenth, and drove in three.  Blayne Weller pitched seven strong innings, giving up a run on four hits and two walks.

Bluefield 11, Elizabethton 3 in Elizabethton.  The Blue Jays led 4-1 after two, then scored four in the sixth to take command.  The Twins made four errors, leading to six unearned runs.  Adam Pettersen and Eddie Rosario each singled and doubled.  Tim Shibuya allowed eight runs (four earned) on ten hits and a walk in 5.2 innings.  The best-of-three series now moves to Bluefield, where the Twins will need to win both tonight and tomorrow night to advance in the playoffs.  David Hurlbut (3-6, 4.50) is scheduled to pitch for the Twins.

Rochester 8, Pawtucket 6 in Rochester.  The Red Wings scored five in the first, led 6-0 after two, then held on.  Brian Dinkelman singled and homered, driving in three.  Ray Chang singled and doubled.  Jair Fernandez hit a home run.  Cole DeVries started and went 4.1 innings, giving up two runs on eight hits and two walks.  Chuck James got the win in relief, giving up a run on two hits in two innings.

New Britain 12, Richmond 3 in Richmond.  The Rock Cats scored seven in the second and the outcome was never in doubt.  Yangervis Solarte had two singles and a double, raising his average to .323.  Brian Dozier singled and homered, driving in four and raising his average to .316.  Chris Cates singled and doubled.  Joe Benson and Mark Dolenc each had two hits.  Bobby Lanigan struck out six in six innings, giving up a run on five hits.  Reading also won, so the Rock Cats remain a half game ahead in the race for the last playoff spot.

St. Lucie 2, Ft. Myers 1 in St. Lucie.  The Mets scored two in the eighth to overcome a 1-0 deficit.  Jamaal Hawkins had two hits.  Aaron Hicks was back in the lineup, going 1-for-4.  Matthew Tomshaw pitched five shutout innings, giving up six hits and a walk.  Clint Dempster threw two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.  Matt Hauser pitched the eighth and took the loss.

Beloit at Clinton.  Cancelled.

Elizabethton 10, Princeton 6 in Elizabethton.  The Twins scored four in the seventh to break a 6-6 tie and close out the regular season with a win.  Eddie Rosario had three hits to raise his average to .337.  Miguel Sano had two doubles.  Nick Lockwood singled and doubled.  Max Kepler had two hits.  Justin Parker lasted four innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk.  Cesar Ciurcina got the win despite allowing a run on two hits and two walks in one inning.  The Twins open the playoffs tonight at home against Bluefield.  They will play a best of three series with the Blue Jays, with the next two games in Bluefield.  The action starts at 6:00 p.m. Central, with Tim Shibuya (8-2, 3.30) the probable starter for the Twins.

Hermsen worked six solid innings, giving up two runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out six.  Matthew Tone took the loss, surrendering two runs on two hits and two walks in one inning.

Belolit 6, Clinton 3 in Clinton.  The Snappers scored four in the fifth to break a scoreless tie, then hung on.  Michael Gonzales singled, doubled, and homered, driving in three.  The home run was his fourteenth.  Nate Roberts singled and doubled, raising his average to .302.  A. J. Elizabethton 6, Princeton 5 in Elizabethton.  The Twins scored four in the fifth to break a 2-2 tie, then held on for the win.  Miguel Sano hit two home runs, his nineteenth and twentieth, driving in three.  Eddie Rosario singled and homered, his twenty-first.  His average is now .332.  JaDamion Williams had two hits to raise his average to .326.  Marcus Limon went 5.1 innings, allowing three runs on five hits and four walks.  Cole Johnson pitched a perfect ninth, striking out two, to get the save.  The Twins have clinched a playoff spot.  They close out their regular season tonight.  Four teams are in the Appalachian League playoffs.  Each series is best of three.  The E-Twins will play East Division champion Bluefield beginning tomorrow night.  The first game is in Elizabethton, with the next two (if necessary) in Bluefield.

Buffalo 3, Rochester 1 in Buffalo.  The Bisons scored in the fourth, fifth, and sixth.  Brandon Roberts and Chase Lambin each had two hits.  Deinys Suarez gave up three runs on six hits and two walks in seven innings.  Carlos Gutierrez struck out two in a perfect eighth.

Charlotte 7, Ft. Myers 0 in Ft. Myers.  The Stone Crabs scored four in the seventh to take a 6-0 lead.  Nick Romero had two doubles.  Starter Alex Wimmers went 6.2 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and two walks.

Clinton 5, Beloit 2 in Clinton.  The LumberKings scored three in the seventh to break a 2-2 tie.  Lance Ray hit a home run, his fifteenth.  Manuel Soliman took the loss, giving up four runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out six in six innings. 

Elizabethton 8, Princeton 2 in Elizabethton.  The Twins scored three in the third and three in the fourth.  Eddie Rosario singled, tripled, and homered, driving in three and raising his average to .330.  The home run was his twentieth.  Tyler Koelling had three hits.  Matthew Koch singled and doubled.  Tim Atherton worked six shutout innings, giving up two hits and three walks.  Cesar Ciurcina was credited with a save despite allowing two runs three hits and a walk in three innings.  He did strike out four.  The win clinches a playoff spot for Elizabethton.  The regular season ends tomorrow.

Syracuse 4, Rochester 3 in Syracuse.  The Chiefs led 4-1 after seven.  Ray Chang had three hits and Toby Gardenhire had two.  Andrew Baldwin took a tough loss, giving up just two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six in six innings.

New Britain 7, Trenton 4 in Trenton (Game 1--Scheduled 7 innings).  Chris Parmelee's bases loaded single in the seventh led to three runs scoring (an error helped) to give the Rock Cats the victory.  Chris Herrmann had two hits.  Joe Benson hit a home run, his fifteenth.  Matt Schuld lasted only four innings, allowing four runs on five hits.  Brett Jacobson got the win with two shutout innings, giving up only two walks.  Dakota Watts pitched a perfect seventh for the save.

Ft. Myers 3, Charlotte 0 in Charlotte (Game 1--Scheduled 7 innings).  The Miracle scored in the third, fourth, and sixth.  Angel Morales singled and doubled.  Anderson Hidalgo hit a home run.  Edgar Ibarra gave up four hits and two walks while striking out five in five innings.  Matt Hauser got his seventh save with two shutout innings, striking out three and giving up one hit.

Ft. Myers 6, Charlotte 1 in Charlotte (Game 2--Scheduled 7 innings).  The Miracle jumped to a 5-0 lead after two innings.  Danny Rohlfing singled and homered.  Aaron Hicks, James Beresford, and Reggie Williams each had two hits.  Starter Caleb Thielbar pitched two innings, giving up a hit and three walks but no runs.  Clint Dempster got the win, allowing one run on four hits in two innings.  Shooter Hunt picked up his first save, giving up no hits but walking four and striking out four in three innings.

Clinton 6, Beloit 2 in Clinton.  The LumberKings got a single run in each of innings three through six, then scored two in the seventh to put it away.  Jairo Perez and Lance Ray each had two hits, with Perez raising his average to .340.  Ryan O'Rourke struck out nine in six innings, but allowed four runs on eight hits. 

Elizabethton 5, Bluefield 3 in Bluefield.  The Twins scored three in the first and never trailed.  Eddie Rosario had two singles and a triple, scoring three times.  Miguel Sano singled and homered, driving in four.   The home run was his eighteenth.  Max Kepler had two hits.  Derek Christensen gave up a run on three hits and three walks in six innings.  Matthew Summers pitched a scoreless ninth to get the save.  The Twins lead Kingsport by three games for the last playoff spot.

GCL Twins 3, Red Sox 2.  The Twins scored two in the ninth to get a win in their last game of the season.  Fittingly for a GCL game, the winning rally consisted of a walk, an error, a hit batsman, another walk, and another error.  Angel Mata threw four shutout innings, striking out five while giving up two hits and two walks.  Kyle Wahl pitched the last three innings and got the win, giving up a run on three his and a walk while striking out three.  The Twins finished 31-29.  The were second in the GCL South, seven games out of first and three games out of the wild card.
