The “Cup of Coffee” is the daily post where the Citizens are free to chat about whatever they want. Topics that prove sufficiently popular often migrate to their own, dedicated post.
Before this year's eclipse I was trying to find the glasses that I still had from the last eclipse. I knew they were in the garage somewhere, but couldn't find them after tearing through everything. They were nicer ones too (plastic frames instead of paper). I eventually gave up an ordered new ones before they all sold out. Naturally I just found them again. They somehow ended up in a box of random grilling implements. Oh well. Guess I better save them for 2044*!
*There's one in Japan in 2035 that I might consider trying to get to.
It seems like I'm the only one in the family that appreciates the more gamey meats. I'm not even talking anything crazy, just like lamb and bison. The kids I can kind of understand, but the wife really doesn't like it. Well, more for me I guess (though that means if I want to cook it, I've got to eat it all)?
If you consume your books electronically, which vehicle do you use? I really like my 10+ year old Paperwhite. I think it's a nice compromise between digital and analog (plus the adjustable backlight is very useful in darker environments). I think R_R said he reads books on his cell phone, which is lunacy to me.
So, I apparently need a weird size of wood, but I only need about 10' of it. I'm seriously looking into someplace that can send me custom sizes off the internet. Short of buying a table saw, I'm not sure how to procure it.
The wife likes to bring home limited time snacks now and then for the kids and her to try (I'm not into sweets, so I usually just try half of something out of curiosity). She brought back some Coke flavored Oreos the other night. They're about what you'd expect, though I have to hand it to whoever over there that thought to slip a few pop rocks into them.
We have some of them melatonin supplements, but even if I get a good amount of sleep when I take them, I still feel like I only slept about 3 hours. Not my bag.
