The boy wanted to take his school computer up to his room to "do his homework" (he can't do much on those things, but he can access YouTube). I told him no, the living room or kitchen was fine. He said, "Dad, I'll cast my screen, okay?" I thought for a moment, and said, yeah, sure. And so, he could sit comfortably in his room, and while he was likely also talking to his special lady friend, I could watch his computer on the living room TV to see he was at least still working on his math. The future is weird.

September 26, 2024: One LA’st Dance
Pour one out for the long suffering A's fans and the last game in their home park.
I am generally anti-Idiot On The Field, but if you're an Oakland A's fan during the last game at the Colosseum? What're they gonna do, ban you from future Oakland A's games?? Have some beers and take a lap, man. Totally fine.

September 25, 2024: Sore
Getting to that age where, despite not doing anything strenuous, I wake up and everything hurts. Going on my second day of strong back pain without really doing anything to earn it. Good times!
September 24, 2024: Sleepover
The boy had a sleepover at his karate dojo over the weekend. I was thinking about some similar events I had at that age and how formative they can be. I still remember several of them pretty vividly.
September 23, 2024: The Last Place You Look
Before this year's eclipse I was trying to find the glasses that I still had from the last eclipse. I knew they were in the garage somewhere, but couldn't find them after tearing through everything. They were nicer ones too (plastic frames instead of paper). I eventually gave up an ordered new ones before they all sold out. Naturally I just found them again. They somehow ended up in a box of random grilling implements. Oh well. Guess I better save them for 2044*!
*There's one in Japan in 2035 that I might consider trying to get to.
September 22, 2024: Cool Down
Looks like the temps are going to start dipping down from today. This could be the beginning of the end of (meteorological) summer.

This is my 5,000th post on the .org. More milestones upcoming...
September 20, 2024: 50/50
I mean, the guy is unreal. And all this while he's recovering from TJ surgery. Unequivocally the best player in the history of baseball.
September 19, 2024: All In The Game
It seems like I'm the only one in the family that appreciates the more gamey meats. I'm not even talking anything crazy, just like lamb and bison. The kids I can kind of understand, but the wife really doesn't like it. Well, more for me I guess (though that means if I want to cook it, I've got to eat it all)?
September 18, 2024: Talking Book
If you consume your books electronically, which vehicle do you use? I really like my 10+ year old Paperwhite. I think it's a nice compromise between digital and analog (plus the adjustable backlight is very useful in darker environments). I think R_R said he reads books on his cell phone, which is lunacy to me.
