First read about this Cape Verde gal in an Economist obit, and it wasn't long before I had a couple of her songs in my playlist. Famous for singing in her bare feet.

This week a little spin around the Big O, starting with the North Coast.
I first ran into Tokyo Police Club, a NewMarket, Ontario band, on the CBC Radio 3 podcasts several years back.
NBBW and I saw them in concert last year as the opening band for The New Pornographers at Ram's Head in Baltimore.
Also check out Tesselate, Wait Up, Juno, Nature of the Experiment, and Favorite Color.

I am pretty sure the Black Crowes are the best cover band in the world.

i was also planning on giving equal time, actually, but if we're gonna switch now, why not? in my estimation, this is one of the better choices of bands to cover this particular song.

With it being an election year it is always important to give equal time to each party. After playing several bands covering the Beatles, it is only fair to play some groups covering the Stones.

(by the way, somehow, this is pretty much the only performance of this song not attempted by a beatles tribute band or filmed with a webcam)
