CUBS 3, SAINTS 2 IN IOWA

Edwin Rios hit a two-run homer in the fourth to give Iowa a 3-1 lead.  St. Paul got the tying run to first base in the ninth.

Gilberto Celestino hit a home run, his second.
Trevor Larnach hit a home run, his seventh.

Randy Dobnak pitched four innings, giving up three runs on four hits and two walks and striking out three.
Ronny Henriquez struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.
Patrick Murphy struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and three walks.

DRILLERS 5, WIND SURGE 4 IN TULSA (11 INNINGS)

Jose Ramos hit a two-run homer in the eighth to tie it 3-3.  Each team scored once in the tenth.  Eddys Leonard delivered a walkoff single.

Yoyner Fajardo was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.
Brooks Lee was 2-for-5.

David Festa struck out three in two innings, giving up one run on two hits and two walks.  He is playing in the Futures Game, which may be why he only pitched two innings.
Pierson Ohl struck out nine in 5.1 innings, giving up one run on three hits.

KERNELS 4, RIVER BANDITS 1 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Noah Cardenas hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give Cedar Rapids a 3-0 lead.

Ben Ross was 2-for-4 with a home run (his thirteenth), a double, and two RBIs.
Cardenas hit a two-run homer, his second.

Zebby Matthews pitched 5.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk and striking out five.

MIGHTY MUSSELS 5, HAMMERHEADS 4 IN JUPITER

Carson McCusker hit a two-run homer in a four-run third that gave Fort Myers a 5-3 lead.

Rubel Cespedes was 2-for-5 with a double.
McCusker hit a two-run homer, his second.

Andrew Morris struck out five in five innings, giving up three unearned runs on four hits.
Danny Moreno struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

FCL BRAVES 4, FCL TWINS 3 AT BRAVES

Trailing 4-1, the Twins scored two in the ninth and had men on first and second when the game ended.

Jankel Ortiz was 2-for-2 with two walks.

Opener Josh Mitchell struck out two in a scoreless inning.
Jacob Wosinski pitched five innings, giving up one run on two hits and striking out four.

CHIEFS 3, KERNELS 2 IN PEORIA (10 INNINGS)

Cedar Rapids tied it with two in the ninth, but Alex Iadesernia singled home the winning run.

No Cedar Rapids player had more than one hit.

Christian MacLeod struck out seven in 5.2 innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks.
Niklas Rimmel retired all four men he faced, striking out two.

Tyler Tolbert hit a grand slam in a five-run ninth that turned a 4-2 deficit into a 7-4 victory for Northwest Arkansas.

Travis Adams struck out seven in five innings, giving up one run on two hits.

FLYING TIGERS 9, MIGHTY MUSSELS 8 IN FORT MYERS (10 INNINGS)

Luke Gold hit a two-run homer in the top of the tenth.  Fort Myers got the tying run to first base in the bottom of the inning.

Ricardo Olivar was 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, a walk, and four RBIs.
Carson McCusker hit a home run.  A free agent out of Oklahoma State, he signed with the Twins on June 29.

WHERE THEY STAND

The St. Paul Saints are 43-31, in second place in the International League West, a half-game behind Iowa.

The Wichita Wind Surge is 28-40, in fifth (last) place in the Texas League North, 16.5 games behind Arkansas, a half-game behind fourth-place Northwest Arkansas.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels ended the first half 40-26, in first place in the Midwest League West, seven games ahead of Peoria.  In the second half, they are 2-1, tied for second place with Wisconsin, one game behind Peoria.

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels ended the first half 34-32, in third place in the Florida State League North, 10.5 games behind Clearwater, 1.5 games behind second-place Bradenton.  In the second half, they are 1-2, tied for fourth with Dunedin, two games behind Bradenton, one game behind Clearwater and Tampa, who are tied for second.

The FCL Twins are 9-6, in second place in the FCL South, 1.5 games behind the FCL Pirates.

The DSL Twins are 5-11, in seventh place in the DSL South, 6.5 games behind the DSL Giants Black, four games behind the DSL Giants Orange and the DSL Mariners, who are tied for fifth.
