Dream Theater is a band that has had more influence on my musical tastes than any other band when I discovered them in high school. Here they are doing their only song that ever got significant air play, during with the break into some Metallica.

Meshuggah are the godfathers of djent and an influence on basically every modern metal band. The drums here are double bass throughout--sixteenth notes interspersed with thirty-second notes.

I first saw these migrating through this spring. Calling, but not singing. They're alleged to breed here, but I've only encountered them as migrants (I saw a handful more this fall).
