Minor Details: Games of May 28

ST. PAUL SAINTS 5, OMAHA STORM CHASERS 2 IN OMAHA

Peyton Wilson singled home a run in the first to give Omaha the early lead.  But in the third, Matt Wallner hit a three-run homer for all the runs St. Paul would need.  They added one in the fourth anyway, on an Anthony Prato RBI single.  Omaha got that one back in the bottom of the fourth, but Mickey Gasper singled home a run in the sixth.  Omaha got only one hit after the fifth inning.

Batters:  Anthony Prato was 3-for-3 with a walk, a run, and an RBI.  Jeferson Morales was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  Matt Wallner was 1-for-5 with a three-run homer, his fourth.

Pitchers:  Simeon Woods Richardson pitched six innings, giving up two runs on five hits and a walk and striking out five.  Travis Adams pitched three shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.

Opponents:  Jac Caglianone was 3-for-4 with a double.  Eric Cerantola struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up two hits.

TULSA DRILLERS 10, WICHITA WIND SURGE 7 IN WICHITA (10 INNINGS)

Tulsa took the early lead, scoring two in the first.  They added one in the third and three in the fourth to take a 6-0 lead.  But Wichita came back, exploding for seven runs in the bottom of the fourth.  The inning featured three doubles and a three-run single by Rubel Cespedes.  John Rhodes homered in the fifth to tie it 7-7, and there things stood through nine.  Tulsa scored three in the tenth, two on a single by Yeiner Fernandez, to take the lead.  Wichita went down in order in the bottom of the tenth.

Batters:  Gabriel Gonzalez was 4-for-4 with two doubles and a run.  Kala'i Rosario was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run, and an RBI.

Pitchers:  Starter Ricky Castro pitched 3.1 innings, allowing five runs on six hits and no walks and striking out four.  Jarret Whorff struck out five and walked one in three shutout innings, giving up no hits.  Cody Laweryson pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and one walk and striking out one.

CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS 1, LAKE COUNTY CAPTAINS 0 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Kaelen Culpepper homered leading off the bottom of the first, and that was the end of the scoring.  Lake County had four hits, all singles, and only one walk.  Cedar Rapids had only two hits, drawing four walks.  In other words, the pitchers were in control of the game.

Batters:  Kaelen Culpepper was 1-for-3 with a home run (his sixth) and a walk.

Pitchers:  Jose Olivares struck out seven in five shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.  Jack Noble struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up two hits.  Spencer Bengard pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.  Jacob Wosinski pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.

BRADENTON MARAUDERS 8, FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS 5 IN FORT MYERS

Will Taylor homered leading off the second and Bradenton added single runs in the third and fourth to go up 3-0.  Fort Myers scored two in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 3-2, but Bradenton responded with five in the fifth.  Jhonny Severino hit a two-run triple in the inning.  Fort Myers got two in the bottom of the fifth, but the offense stalled after that.  Angel Del Rosario created a run in the eighth as he singled, stole second and third, and scored on a pickoff error, but that was all Fort Myers could do.  Del Rosario now has twenty stolen bases.

Batters:  Peyton Eeles was 2-for-4 with a double, a run, and an RBI.

Pitchers:  Starter Dylan Questad pitched four innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on three hits and four walks and striking out six.  Christian Becerra pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk and striking out one.  Hunter Hoopes struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

Opponents:  Konnor Griffin was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two runs.  Will Taylor was 2-for-5 with a home run, two runs, and two RBIs.  Axiel Plaz was 2-for-5 with a run.  Greiber Mendez struck out four and walked one in two shutout innings.

NORFOLK TIDES 12, ST. PAUL SAINTS 1 IN ST. PAUL (GAME 1)

It was scoreless until the fourth, when Mike Ford homered to give St. Paul a 1-0 lead.  That must have woken Norfolk up, because they scored twelve runs in the next three innings.  Four walks, a hit batsman, and two singles produced four runs in the fifth.  Fernando Peguero hit a two-run double in a three-run sixth.  Vimael Machin hit a three-run homer in a five-run seventh.  Norfolk only out-hit St. Paul 8-6 but drew nine walks.

Batters:  Mike Ford was 2-for-3 with a home run, his eighth.  Mickey Gasper was 2-for-4.  Emmanuel Rodriguez was 0-for-0 with three walks.

Pitchers:  Starter Marco Raya had by far his best game of the season, striking out seven in four perfect innings.  Infielder Anthony Prato came on to get the last out of the seventh.

Opponents:  Jordyn Adams was 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs, and an RBI.  Francisco Peguero was 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs.  Coby Mayo was 2-for-5 with an RBI.  Vimael Machin was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer (his fourth) and a walk.

ST. PAUL SAINTS 6, NORFOLK TIDES 4 IN ST. PAUL (GAME 2)

T. T. Bowens doubled home a run in the top of the first, but Mickey Gasper homered in the bottom of the first.  Chadwick Tromp hit a two-run homer in the top of the second, but Patrick Winkel singled home a run in the bottom of the second and Gasper homered again in the third to make it 3-3.  Tromp homered again in the fourth, but Anthony Prato hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth to put St. Paul in the lead to stay.  Ryan Fitzgerald singled home an insurance run in the sixth.

Batters:  Edouard Julien was 2-for-2 with a walk.  Patrick Winkel was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI.  Mickey Gasper was 2-for-4 with two home runs, his eighth and ninth.  Anthony Prato was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer, his third.

SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS 5, WICHITA WIND SURGE 2 IN SAN ANTONIO

All the runs were scored in the sixth inning.  Wichita got two in the top of the inning, but Marcos Castanon hit a two-run double to tie it, an error scored the go-ahead run, and San Antonio scored two more for insurance.  Wichita got a hit in each of the last three innings but could do nothing with it.

Batters:  Kala'i Rosario was 2-for-4.

Pitchers:  Christian MacLeod struck out five and walked three in four shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Jarret Whorff struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.  Joel Cesar pitched a scoreless inning, striking out one.

Fort Wayne scored two in the third, but Kaelen Culpepper delivered a two-run single in a three-run fourth to put Cedar Rapids up 3-2.  The Kernels then got a touchdown and an extra point, scoring seven times in the fifth.  They drew four walks and hit three singles and a double in the inning.  That put them ahead 10-2 and essentially decided the game.

Batters:  Kaelen Culpepper was 2-for-4 with two walks, a run, and two RBIs.  Nate Baez was 2-for-4 with a double, two walks, a run, and two RBIs.  Jaime Ferrer was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI.

Fort Myers scored two in the top of the first, but Bryce Rainer hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the first to tie it.  Jose Rodriguez homered in the third, but Lakeland scored in the fourth to tie it.  Maddux Houghton homered in the seventh, but Carson Rucker delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to tie it.  Dameury Pena singled home a run in the tenth, and this time Lakeland couldn't tie it, as they never advanced the Manfred Man beyond where he was placed.

Batters:  Maddux Houghton was 2-for-3 with a home run (his third) and a walk.  Jose Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fourth), a walk, and two RBIs.

Pitchers:  Starter Dasan Hill struck out five in 2.2 innings, but gave up two runs on two hits and two walks.  Jason Doktorcyzk struck out six in four innings, giving up two runs on five hits and no walks.  Zander Sechrist pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.  Hunter Hoopes pitched two shutout innings, striking out one and walking one.

FCL RED SOX 5, FCL TWINS 3 AT TWINS (7 INNINGS)

Johanfran Garcia singled home a run in the third and Yohander Linares hit a two-run single in the fourth to give the Red Sox a 3-0 lead.  The Twins scored one in the fifth, but the Red Sox got it back in the sixth on a Jhoan Peguero home run.  Jayson Bass hit a two-run double in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3, but that was as much as the Twins could do.  The Red Sox got an insurance run in the seventh and that was that.

Batters:  None.  The Twins had three hits.

Pitchers:  Starter Joel Garcia struck out four in three innings, giving up three runs on five hits and three walks.  Aiberson Ventura pitched a perfect inning.

Opponents:  Yohander Linares was 2-for-2 with a walk and two RBIs.  Jhoan Peguero was 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and two runs.  Yoelvin Chirino struck out four in 3.2 innings, giving up one run on one hit and two walks.

WICHITA WIND SURGE 6, SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS 4 AT SAN ANTONIO

Wichita scored two in the first and two in the third to take a 4-0 lead.  Brandon Valenzuela got San Antonio on the board with an RBI single in the fifth, but a bases-loaded walk in the sixth got the run back for Wichita.  Ripken Reyes singled home a run in the bottom of the sixth and San Antonio scored two in the seventh to cut the lead to 5-4.  But a wild pitch brought home an insurance run in the eighth and San Antonio was held hitless the rest of the way.

Batters:  Kala'i Rosario was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and two runs.  Andrew Cossetti was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs.  Aaron Sabato was 2-for-5 with an RBI.

LAKELAND FLYING TIGERS 5, FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS 3 IN LAKELAND

Poncho Ruiz doubled home a run in the first, but Lakeland got the run back in the bottom of the first.  It stayed 1-1 until the fifth, when Fort Myers took a 2-1 lead on a sacrifice fly.  The lead lasted until the bottom of the fifth, when Lakeland scored three runs without a hit.  The inning went walk, walk, walk, balk, sac fly, passed ball, ground out, walk, ground out.  Garrett Pennington homered in the seventh to make it 5-2.  Fort Myers scored one more in the eighth, but could do no more.

Batters:  Angel Del Rosario was 2-for-2 with a double and a run.  Yasser Mercedes was 2-for-3 with a double, a run, and an RBI.  Poncho Ruiz was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

WICHITA WIND SURGE 15, ARKANSAS TRAVELERS 7 IN WICHITA

Wichita scored three in the first and one in the third to take a 4-0 lead.  Arkansas came back, scoring one in the fourth and getting a two-run double from Jared Sundstrom in a three-run fifth to tie it 4-4.  Wichita then took control of the game in the bottom of the fifth, scoring a touchdown plus the extra point.  Tanner Schobel hit a three-run double and Kyler Fedco hit a two-run homer in a seven-run inning that put the game out of reach.  The lead went to 14-4 before Arkansas put up three in the eighth to make the final score look a little better

Ian Petrutz hit a two-run homer in a four-run first that put Peoria in control of the game early.  It was 5-0 when Cedar Rapids finally scored on a double by Brandon Winokur in the eighth.  Peoria added two more in the ninth.

Batters:  None.  Cedar Rapids had five hits.

Pitchers:  Chase Chaney settled down after the first, pitching five innings and giving up five runs on nine hits and a walk and striking out three.  Eston Stull pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.  Gabriel Yanez struck out five in two perfect innings.

Dameury Pena hit a home run in a three-run first.  Jupiter scored single runs in the first and third to cut the lead to 3-2, but Fort Myers put up another three-spot in the fifth.  Jupiter got two back in the sixth to cut the margin to 6-4, but that was as close as they would get.  Fort Myers scored single runs in the seventh and eighth.

Batters:  Rayne Doncon was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  Daniel Pena was 2-for-4 with a double, two runs, and two RBIs.  Dameury Pena hit a home run, his second.

Pitchers:  Jason Doktorczyk pitched 4.1 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks and striking out three.  Devin Kirby pitched two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.

Iowa had two Abe Lincoln innings (four score) to take the game.  Three walks and three singles plated four Iowa runs in the fourth to give the Cubs a 5-0 lead.  St. Paul got two in the fifth, but Iowa scored four more in the top of the fifth to go up 9-2.

WICHITA WIND SURGE 11, ARKANSAS TRAVELERS 9 IN WICHITA

Ricardo Olivar hit a three-run homer in the third to give Wichita a 4-2 lead.  Arkansas tied it 4-4 in the fifth, but Jorel Ortega hit a two-run single to make it 6-4 in the sixth.  Arkansas got one back in the top of the seventh, but Ortega hit a two-run homer in a four-run Wichita seventh to take a 10-5 lead.  Arkansas scored four in the eighth to get back into it, but Kyler Fedco singled home an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth.  Arkansas loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, but getting out of the jam was as easy as 1-2-3, as a pitcher-to-catcher-to-first double play ended the game.

Batters:  Ricardo Olivar was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer (his fifth) and two runs.  Jorel Ortega was 2-for-3 with a home run (his third) and four RBIs.  Kala'i Rosario was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run.  Rubel Cespedes was 2-for-5.

Peoria scored four in the first to take the early lead.  Gabriel Gonzalez homered in the fourth to put Cedar Rapids on the board.  It was 5-2 going to the bottom of the sixth, but Danny De Andrade hit a two-run homer to cut the lead to 5-4 and Nate Baez delivered an RBI single in the eighth to tie it 5-5.  Neither team scored in the tenth, but Trey Paige hit a two-run homer in the top of the eleventh.  Cedar Rapids got one back, but could not advance the tying run past first base.

Batters:  Gabriel Gonzalez was 3-for-5 with a home run (his fourth) and two runs.  Khadim Diaw was 2-for-4 with a run.  Misael Urbina was 2-for-5 with an RBI.  Danny De Andrade hit a two-run homer, his third.

Fort Myers scored two in the first to take the lead.  It was 3-1 after five, but Yeral Martinez hit a two-run double in the sixth to tie it 3-3.  That was all the scoring until the tenth, when Yasser Martinez, as the Manfred Man, stole third and scored on a wild pitch.  Jupiter got their Manfred Man to third with one out, but he was thrown out at the plate trying to score on a grounder to short.

Batters:  No Mussel had more than one hit.

Pitchers:  Starter Michael Ross pitched three innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks and striking out two.  Zander Sechrist pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out one.  Brennan Oxford struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Hunter Hoopes struck out two in 1.1 perfect innings.

ST. PAUL SAINTS 2, BUFFALO BISONS 1 IN ST. PAUL

It was scoreless until the sixth, when an error put Buffalo up 1-0.  In the seventh, however, Emmanuel Rodriguez hit a two-run homer to give St. Paul all the runs they would need.  It was his second homer of the season.  It was the pitching that carried the day.  Zebby Matthews pitched 5.1 innings, giving up an unearned run on five hits and no walks and striking out four.  Alex Speas pitched two shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Tyler Beede pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.

WICHITA WIND SURGE 3, NORTHWEST ARKANSAS NATURALS 1 IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS

It was again scoreless until the sixth, and again it was the opponent who scored first, as an infield out brought home a Northwest Arkansas run.  But in the eighth, Kala'i Rosario hit an RBI triple and scored on an infield out to give Wichita a 2-1 lead.  A sacrifice fly brought home an insurance run in the ninth.  Noah Cardenas was 2-for-4 with a run, but again it was the pitching that carried the day.  Christian MacLeod pitched four shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks and striking out three.  Jarret Whorff struck out three in two perfect innings.  John Stankiewicz pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

BELOIT SKY CARP 8, CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS 5 IN BELOIT

Cedar Rapids led 3-1 half-way through, but a three-run fifth put Beloit in the lead to stay.  They added three in the seventh to take control of the game.  Jaime Ferrer was 2-for-4 with two runs.  Starter Jeremy Lee pitched 4.1 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and no walks and striking out one.

DUNEDIN BLUE JAYS 3, FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS 0 IN FORT MYERS

Devonte Brown's RBI single in the first put Dunedin on the board and his two-run double in the fifth gave the Blue Jays some insurance.  Fort Myers had six hits, five singles and a double.  Daniel Pena was 2-for-3.  Dylan Questad pitched five innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks and striking out two.  Hunter Hoopes struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.  Ruddy Gomez pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

FCL TWINS 12, FCL RED SOX 5 AT TWINS

Bryan Acuna put the Twins on the board in the first with a home run.  They followed that up with six in the second and four in the third.  The Twins only had six hits, but drew seven walks and took advantage of five Red Sox errors.  They also were hit by pitches three times and stole four bases.  Bryan Acuna was 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, three runs, and three RBIs.  Luis Fragoza was 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, a run, and two RBIs.  Starter Joel Garcia struck out seven in three innings, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk.  Will Armbruester pitched two shutout innings, giving up three hits.

Buffalo scored six in the first and led 12-1 after four.  Mickey Gasper was 4-for-5 with a home run, his fifth.  Emmanuel Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Starter Marco Raya pitched just one inning, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk.

Jac Caglianone broke a scoreless tie with a three-run homer in the sixth.  But in the seventh, Kala'i Rosario hit a two-run homer and Andrew Cossetti hit a three-run homer to give Wichita the 5-3 victory.  Ben Ross was 2-for-4.  Rosario was 1-for-4 and the home run was his fourth.  Cossetti was 1-for-4 and the home run was his second.  Aaron Rozek pitched four innings, giving up three runs on four hits and no walks and striking out four.  Ricky Castro struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Jaylin Nowlin struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.

Dunedin scored two in the first and built a 4-0 lead before Fort Myers got its lone run in the third.  A three-run sixth put the game out of reach.  Damuery Pena was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.  Starter Michael Carpenter pitched two-thirds of an inning, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks and striking out two.  Tyler Stasiowski struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

FCL TWINS 2, FSL RED SOX 0 AT RED SOX

The Twins scored on an error in the third and on a balk in the fourth.  The pitching was the story, as three pitchers combined for a shutout.  Matt Gabbert pitched two perfect innings, striking out one.  Hendry Chivilli pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.  Mitch Mueller struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up one hit.

ST. PAUL SAINTS 8, BUFFALO BISONS 7 IN ST. PAUL

Will Wagner hit a two-run single in the third to put Buffalo up 2-0.  Will Holland doubled home a run in the fourth and the Saints scored two in the fifth to go up 3-2.  The lead lasted until the next half-inning, when Joey Loperfido hit a two-run single to make it 4-3.  That lead also lasted until the next half-inning, when Edouard Julien hit a two-run single-plus-error to give St. Paul a 5-4 lead.  In the eighth, homers by Loperfido and Davis Schneider put Buffalo back in front 7-5.  Not to worry, because Mike Ford hit a three-run homer in the ninth to give the Saints a walkoff victory!

Rubel Cespedes hit a two-run homer in the first and Wichita scored two in the second to take a 4-0 lead.  It stayed 4-0 through six, and it was looking good.  But Gavin Cross hit a two-run homer in the seventh and did it again in the ninth, tying the score.  A bases-loaded walk scored on for Wichita in the tenth, but Carter Jensen delivered a two-run single in the bottom of the tenth to walk it off for Northwest Arkansas.

Danny De Andrade doubled home a run in the first and Cedar Rapids scored three in the second on three hit batsmen, two walks, and a wild pitch to go ahead 4-0.  Beloit scored two in the bottom of the second, but Cedar Rapids scored one in the third on three more walks and another hit batsman.  But Jay Beshears hit a two-run double in the third and homered in the fifth to tie it 5-5.  There was no more scoring until the eighth, when a walk, a passed ball, and a De Andrade RBI single produced the game-winner for Cedar Rapids.

Homers by Jean Joseph and Sam Shaw gave Dunedin a 3-1 lead in the third.  Yasser Mercedes hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the third to tie it 3-3.  But it was all Dunedin after that.  Joseph singled home a run in the fourth to make it 4-3.  It stayed close until the eighth, when Dunedin scored three more to put the game out of reach.

Batters:  Yasser Mercedes hit a two-run homer, his second.  Fort Myers had only two hits.

Pitchers:  Adrian Bohorquez struck out five in three innings, but allowed four runs on three hits and two walks.

ST. PAUL SAINTS 6, COLUMBUS CLIPPERS 4 IN COLUMBUS (GAME 1–5 INNINGS)

Jeferson Morales hit a two-run homer in the first.  It was 3-1 after two, but Columbus got three in the third to take a 4-3 lead.  Not to worry, though, as Mike Ford led off the fourth with a homer to tie it.  Morales struck again in the fifth, again leading off the inning with a home run, and Anthony Prato had an RBI single for an insurance run.  Rain came in the top of the sixth, and the game was over with a Saints win.

FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS 3, WICHITA WIND SURGE 2 IN FRISCO

Abimelec Ortiz hit a two-run homer in the third to give Frisco a 2-0 lead.  Noah Cardenas singled home a run in the fourth to get Wichita on the board, but Frisco got the run back in the fifth.  Jake Rucker singled home a run in the sixth to again cut the margin to one.  Wichita had the bases loaded with one out, but a line drive double play ended the inning.  They would again get a man into scoring position with one out in the eighth, but a pair of fly outs ended the inning.  Wichita had thirteen hits, but only two runs.  They stranded ten and went 2-for-9 with men in scoring position.  Twins baseball!

Carson McCusker hit a two-run double in the first inning to give St. Paul the early lead.  A sacrifice fly made it 3-0 after two.  It stayed there until the fifth, when Nick Yorke got Indianapolis on the board with a two-run single.  Mike Ford singled home a run in the seventh to make it 4-2, but Indianapolis responded with a pinch-hit home run by Nick Solak in the eighth to cut the lead to one again.  Ryan Fitzgerald doubled home a run in the bottom of the eighth, however, and this time Indianapolis had no answer.  They did get the tying run up to bat with one out in the ninth, but their last two men went out.

Jeremy Rivas hit a three-run homer in the first to put Springfield up early.  Wichita tied it in the third on a bases-loaded walk and a two-run single by Rubel Cespedes.  An RBI single and a sacrifice fly in the fourth put Springfield back in front 5-3.  Andrew Cossetti homered in the bottom of the fourth to cut the lead to 5-4.  From there, however, it was all Springfield.  Ramon Mendoza homered in a two-run sixth, Miguel Ugueto hit a two-run homer in a four-run seventh, and Carlos Linares singled home a run in the ninth.

Batters:  Tanner Schobel was 3-for-5.  Kala'i Rosario was 2-for-4 with a walk.  Andrew Cossetti was 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk.  Rubel Cespedes was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.

Pitchers:  Starter Ricky Castro struck out three and walked three in three innings, giving up three runs on three hits.  That's a lot of threes.

Danny De Andrade homered in the second to put Cedar Rapids on the board, but a sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth tied it 1-1.  In the bottom of the fifth, however, Kaelen Culpepper hit a three-run homer to put Cedar Rapids in the lead to stay.  A ground out scored a run in the seventh, and Culpepper hit a two-run single in a three-run eighth that sealed the victory.

Batters:  Kevin Maitan was 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.  Kaelen Culpepper was 2-for-4 with a home run, a walk, and five RBIs.  Danny De Andrade was 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk, and two runs.  Kyle DeBarge stole his eleventh base.

Pitchers:  Jose Olivares struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.  Jeremy Lee pitched three innings, giving up one run on three hits and a walk.  Wilker Reyes struck out two and walked one in two shutout innings.  Samuel Perez struck out two in a perfect inning.

FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS 10, CLEARWATER THRESHERS 1 IN CLEARWATER

Fort Myers scored early and often, getting all ten runs in the first three innings.  Three of them came in the first, as Byron Chourio led off the game with a triple, Jose Salas followed with an RBI single, and Jay Thomason followed that with a three-run homer.  A wild pitch and a sacrifice fly brought home two in the second.  Clearwater got their lone run in the bottom of the second on a Raider Tello homer, but Fort Myers responded with five in the third.  Maddux Houghton singled home one, and later in the inning Salas hit a grand slam.  Three Fort Myers pitchers took it from there, limiting Clearwater to just four hits for the game.

Batters:  Jose Salas was 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and six RBIs.  Poncho Ruiz was 2-for-5.  Jay Thomason was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer (his fifth) and two walks.
