ST. PAUL SAINTS AT COLUMBUS CLIPPERS (2)

Both games were canceled due to rain.

FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS 5, WICHITA WIND SURGE 2 IN FRISCO

Aaron Zavala led off the bottom of the first with a home run and Frisco led the rest of the way.  They scored two in the second and one in the third to build a 4-1 lead.  Ben Ross homered to give Wichita a run in the fourth and Jorel Ortega homered in the ninth.  It was the second home run of the season for each.  Ricky Castro pitched 3.2 innings, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk and striking out one.  Michael Martinez struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.  Jarret Whorff struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.

CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS 8, SOUTH BEND CUBS 3 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

RBI singles by Gabriel Gonzalez in the first and Kyle DeBarge in the second gave Cedar Rapids a 2-0 lead.  South Bend got one back in the third, but Cedar Rapids scored three in the fourth and got a two-run single from Gonzalez in the fifth to go up 7-1.  Kaelen Culpepper was 4-for-5 with two runs.  Gonzalez was 3-for-4 with four RBIs.  Danny De Andrade was 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, a run, and an RBI.  Jose Olivares struck out six in three innings, giving up one run on two hits and four walks.  Logan Whitaker pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and striking out one.  Paulshawn Pasqualotto struck out two and walked two in two shutout innings.

TAMPA TARPONS 12, FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS 5 IN TAMPA

A pair of bases-loaded walks gave Fort Myers a 2-0 lead in the top of the third.  Owen Cobb homered in the bottom of the third to put Tampa on the board, and Dillon Lewis hit a three-run homer to cap a four-run fifth that put Tampa in the lead to stay.  Fort Myers never got closer than two runs after that.  Maddux Houghton was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI.  Dasan Hill pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk, but then was removed due to injury.  We could not quickly find out any details.

FCL TWINS 4, FCL RED SOX 3 AT RED SOX (7 INNINGS)

The Twins scored all of their runs in the sixth to overcome a 1-0 deficit in the 2025 debut of the FCL.  The runs came on a grand slam by Eduardo Beltre.  The Red Sox came back with two in the seventh and had the tying run on third when the game ended.  It does not appear to have been a rain-shortened game--perhaps seven-inning games are a thing in the FCL this year.  Joel Garcia struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Mitch Mueller struck out four in four innings, giving up one run on five hits and a walk.

INDIANAPOLIS INDIANS 6, ST. PAUL SAINTS 5 IN ST. PAUL

Aided by three walks, Indianapolis put up a three-spot in the first inning.  Undaunted, St. Paul tied it with three in the second, as Patrick Winkel hit a two-run homer and Anthony Prato followed with a solo shot.  They took the lead in the fourth when Carson McCusker singled and later scored on a ground out.  The lead was short-lived, however, as Indianapolis scored another three in the fifth.  They were once again aided by walks, two of them this time, plus a wild pitch.  Jeferson Morales singled home a run in the fifth to cut the margin to 6-5, but that was as close as the Saints would come.  They got the tying run to third in the seventh and Prato hit a leadoff double in the ninth, but it was for naught.  St. Paul was 1-for-13 with men in scoring position.
