Minor Details: Games of July 13

FCL ORIOLES 4, FCL TWINS 1 AT ORIOLES (7 INNINGS)

The Orioles scored two in the second and two in the third to take a 4-0 lead.

All four Twins hits were singles and no Twin had more than one.

Starter Jacob Wosinski pitched 1.1 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and striking out two.
Carlos Gutierrez struck out three in three perfect innings.

The St. Paul Saints are 9-3, in first place in the International League West, a half game ahead of Nashville.

The Wichita Wind Surge is 6-6, in second place in the Texas League North, 1.5 games behind Arkansas.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels are 9-6, tied for second place with Beloit in the Midwest League West, one game behind Peoria.

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are 7-8, in fifth place in the Florida State League West, four games behind Clearwater.  They are two games behind fourth-place Tampa.

The FCL Twins are 11-14, tied for fourth place with the Rays in the FCL South, seven games behind the Pirates.  They are one game behind the first-place Braves.

The DSL Twins are 7-19, in eighth place in the DSL South, 13 games behind the Phillies White.  They are 1.5 games behind the Cardinals.

Ronny Henriquez struck out three in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.
Austin Brice gave up an unearned run in one inning, giving up one hit and two walks and striking out one.

DRILLERS 6, WIND SURGE 4 IN TULSA

Tulsa scored four in the fourth to break a 2-2 tie.  Kody Hoese and Eddys Leonard each homered in the inning.

C. J. Culpepper struck out six in five shutout innings, giving up three hits.  He had not given up a run in two high-A starts.
John Wilson pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.
Miguel Rodriguez struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up a walk.

MIGHTY MUSSELS 3, HAMMERHEADS 0 IN JUPITER (10 INNINGS)

Carson McCusker hit a three-run homer in the tenth.

McCusker was 3-for-5 with a three-run homer, his third.  He is batting .345 in his first seven professional games.
Rafael Cruz was 2-for-5.

Jack Noble struck out six in six shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks.
Danny Moreno pitched two shutout innings, walking one and striking out one.
Jackson Hicks struck out three in two shutout innings.

FCL RED SOX 16, FCL TWINS 3 AT TWINS (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

The Twins held the Red Sox scoreless in the first and last inning, but the Red Sox scored multiple runs in every inning in-between.

Frank Nigro hit a home run.

Starter Zach Neff pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.  He is on a rehab assignment--he did not pitch in 2022 and pitched for Wichita in 2021.

With the score tied at two, Wichita scored three in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Will Holland was 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBIs.
Alerick Soularie hit a home run, his fifth.
Alex Isola hit a home run, his tenth.

Wichita had five hits and drew thirteen walks.

Nelson Velazquez hit an RBI double in the seventh to break a 2-2 tie.

St. Paul had only four hits and no one had more than one.

Aaron Sanchez struck out five in five innings, giving up two runs on six hits and a walk.
Andrew Bechtold pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.
Austin Brice pitched a perfect inning and struck out one.

All four St. Paul pitchers had a first name that begins with "A" (the other was Austin Schulfer).

Jose Ramos hit a two-run homer in the eighth to tie it 3-3.  Each team scored once in the tenth.  Eddys Leonard delivered a walkoff single.

Yoyner Fajardo was 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.
Brooks Lee was 2-for-5.

David Festa struck out three in two innings, giving up one run on two hits and two walks.  He is playing in the Futures Game, which may be why he only pitched two innings.

Noah Cardenas hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give Cedar Rapids a 3-0 lead.
