Minor Details: Games of 5/7

Gwinnett 6, Rochester 3 in Rochester.  The Braves scored once in the eighth and twice in the ninth to break a 3-3 tie.  The Red Wings had only three hits in the game.  Kyle Gibson allowed three runs on six hits and a walk in six innings, striking out six.  Kyle Waldrop surrendered two runs on a hit and a walk in two-thirds of an inning.

Portland 15, New Britain 7 in Portland.  The Sea Dogs scored five runs in each of the first two innings.  Deolis Guerra surrendered ten runs on eight hits and three walks in just 1.2 innings.  Michael Tarsi and Jake Stevens each threw two shutout innings of relief.  Evan Bigley singled and homered and Chris Parmelee singled and doubled.

Jupiter 20, Ft. Myers 2 in Ft. Myers.  The Hammerheads scored five in the second, six in the fourth, and seven in the fifth.  They hammered five Miracle pitchers:  Tom Stuifbergen allowed five runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk in 1.2 innings; Shooter Hunt gave up six runs on five hits and three walks in two innings; Brad Tippett surrendered four runs on three hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning; Blake Martin allowed three runs on four hits and two walks in 2.2 innings; and Dakota Watts gave up two runs on three hits and two walks in two innings.  James Beresford had three hits and Brian Dozier had two.

Cedar Rapids 5, Beloit 3 in Cedar Rapids.  The Kernels scored three in the fifth to overcome a 3-2 Snapper lead.  Wang-Wei Lin had two hits.  Michael Gonzales hit a two-run homer.  B. J. Hermsen allowed five runs (four earned) on ten hits and a walk in six innings, striking out five.  Martire Garcia pitched two shutout innings.

Minor Details: Games of 5/6

Rochester 7, Gwinnett 5 in Rochester.  Steve Singleton hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth.  It was Singleton’s second homer of the game; he also singled, scoring three times.  Ray Chang singled and doubled.  Eric Hacker gave up one run on four hits and two walk in 4.1 innings.  Anthony Slama gave up two unearned runs in the ninth to blow the save and get the win.

New Britain 10, Portland 7 in Portland.  The Rock Cats scored two in the eighth and five in the ninth to overcome a 7-3 deficit.  Chris Parmelee had two singles and a homer, driving in four.  Chris Herrmann had two doubles.  Evan Bigley doubled and singled.  Mike Hollimon had two hits and scored three times.  Daniel Osterbrock surrendered seven runs on eight hits and two walk in just 3.1 innings.  Brett Jacobson worked 2.1 scoreless innings of relief.  Michael Tarsi pitched a scoreless eighth for the win and Cole DeVries had a scoreless ninth for the save.

Ft. Myers 4, Jupiter 3 in Ft. Myers (10 innings).  Ramon Santana singled in Anderson Hidalgo with the winning run.  Hidalgo had three hits, and Santana and James Beresford each had two.  All twelve Miracle hits were singles.  Andrew Albers allowed three runs on six hits and two walks in four innings.  Matt Tone and Bruce Pugh each threw three shutout innings, with Pugh striking out four and getting the win.

Wisconsin 4, Beloit 3 in Beloit.  The Timber Rattlers scored single runs in the seventh and eighth for the win.  No Snapper had more than one hit.  Manuel Soliman struck out seven in five innings, giving up two runs on five hits.  Matt Hauser struck out three in 1.2 innings.  Both the tying run and the winning run were unearned.

Minor Details: Games of 5/5

Rochester 3, Gwinnett 2 in Rochester.  Ray Chang singled in Danny Lehmann in the bottom of the ninth to win the game.  Chang also doubled.  Brian Dinkelman had two hits.  Anthony Swarzak struck out six in 5.1 innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and no walks.  Anthony Slama struck out two in a scoreless ninth to get the win.

New Britain 2, Richmond 1 in New Britain (Game 1—scheduled 7 innings).  The Rock Cats scored both of their runs in the third.  Evan Bigley doubled and tripled.  Steve Hirschfeld gave up just one run on three hits and no walks in six innings to get the win.  Cole DeVries pitched a scoreless seventh for the save.

Richmond 7, New Britain 4 in New Britain (Game 2—10 innings—scheduled 7 innings).  The Rock Cats scored two in the seventh to tie it, but could not push the winning run across.  Evan Bigley doubled and tripled, Deibinson Romero doubled and singled, and Yangervis Solarte had two hits.  Liam Hendriks struck out eight in six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks.  Tyler Robertson surrendered all three tenth-inning runs in his third inning of work.

Ft. Myers 6, Palm Beach 5 in Ft. Myers.  Josmil Pinto’s RBI double tied the game in the eighth and James Beresford singled in the winning run in the ninth.  Beresford had three hits.  Pinto also singled.  Jon Goncalves singled and doubled and Reggie Williams had two hits.  Starter Edgar Ibarra allowed all five runs on six hits and a walk in just four innings.  Brad Tippett and Jhon Garcia each pitched two shutout innings, with Garcia retiring all six batters he faced, four by strikeout.  Dakota Watts worked a perfect ninth for the win.

Beloit 10, Wisconsin 5 in Beloit.  The Snappers scored eight runs in the fifth.  Andy Leer and Tobias Streich each singled and homered, with Leer driving in three.  Jamaal Hawkins, Nate Roberts, Danny Ortiz, and Gunner Glad each singled and doubled.  Wang-Wei Lin had two hits.  Starter Andrei Lobanov gave up two runs on six hits and two walks in only 4.1 innings.  Blayne Weller allowed his first earned run of the season on two hits in 1.2 innings but got the win.  Jose Gonzalez threw two scoreless innings.

Minor Details: Games of 5/1 – 5/4

ROCHESTER

Sunday—Rochester 9, Syracuse 6 in Syracuse.  Trevor Plouffe had two singles, a double, and a home run.  Brian Dinkelman and Matt Brown each had three hits.

Monday—Syracuse 3, Rochester 2 in Syracuse.  Scott Diamond worked five shutout innings.  Ben Revere and Dustin Martin each had two hits.

Tuesday—Rochester at Syracuse.  Postponed.

Wednesday—League-wide off day.

NEW BRITAIN

Sunday—New Britain 8, Harrisburg 7 in New Britain (10 innings).  Yangervis Solarte had two doubles and a single, scoring the winning run.  Mike Hollimon had three hits.  Brett Jacobson worked 3.1 scoreless innings.

Monday—Richmond 6, New Britain 2 in New Britain.  Deibinson Romero had two hits.  Michael Tarsi worked two scoreless innings.

Tuesday—New Britain 4, Richmond 2 in New Britain. Evan Bigley had two singles and a double.  Bobby Lanigan gave up two runs on five hits in seven innings.  Cole DeVries pitched two scoreless innings.

Wednesday—Richmond at New Britain.  Postponed.  Will be made up as a doubleheader today.

FT. MYERS

Sunday—Ft. Myers 5, Charlotte 3 in Charlotte.  Nate Hanson had three hits.  Andrew Albers gave up two hits and struck out four in 4.2 scoreless innings of relief.

Monday—Ft. Myers 4, Charlotte 3 in Charlotte (10 innings).  Nick Romero and James Beresford each had two hits.  Nate Hanson hit a game-tying homer in the ninth.  Kevin Slowey gave up two hits and no walks in 5.2 scoreless innings.

Tuesday—Ft. Myers 9, Palm Beach 6 in Ft. Myers.  Brian Dozier doubled and tripled, scoring three times.  Aaron Hicks hit a two-run homer.  Tom Stuifbergen pitched two scoreless innings of relief.

Wednesday—Ft. Myers 6, Palm Beach 2 in Ft. Myers.  Danny Rams had three hits.  Kane Holbrooks gave up two unearned runs on six hits and a walk in six innings.  Blake Martin worked three perfect innings.

BELOIT

Sunday—Beloit 10, Clinton 8 in Clinton.  The Snappers scored nine runs in the eighth.  Danny Ortiz, Tobias Streich, and Wang-Wei Lin each had two hits.  Ryan O’Rourke pitched 2.1 scoreless innings.

Monday—Clinton 13, Beloit 6 in Clinton.  Jamaal Hawkins, Michael Gonzales, and Nate Roberts each had two hits.

Tuesday—Beloit 6, Clinton 3 in Clinton.  Kyle Knudson had three hits.  Ryan O’Rourke pitched two scoreless innings.

Wednesday—Beloit 4, Wisconsin 1 in Beloit.  Danny Ortiz had two doubles.  Adrian Salcedo gave up one run on six hits in seen innings while striking out eight.  Clinton Dempster struck out five in two shutout innings.

Minor Details: Games of 4/30

Syracuse 3, Rochester 0 in Syracuse.  The Chiefs scored in the third, fourth, and fifth.  The Red Wings had three singles and drew two walks.  Jeff Manship allowed two runs on six hits in four innings, walking none and striking out five.  Eric Hacker and Carlos Gutierrez each struck out three in two innings of relief, with Hacker allowing an unearned run.

New Britain 5, Harrisburg 2 in New Britain.  The Rock Cats scored three in the second and two in the seventh.  Yangervis Solarte had a double and two singles.  Steve Singleton had two doubles.  Evan Bigley had two hits.  Liam Hendriks struck out nine in 7.1 innings, giving up just one run on four hits and two walks.  Cole DeVries retired the only man he faced for the save.

Charlotte 5, Ft. Myers 4 in Charlotte.  The Miracle blew a 4-0 lead, with the Stone Crabs scoring four in the bottom of the ninth to take the win.  Charlotte had only three hits in the ninth, receiving two walks and benefitting from a Ft. Myers error.  Nick Romero doubled and tripled, Brian Dozier had two doubles, and Jon Goncalves doubled and singled.  Edgar Ibarra allowed just one run on six hits, walking none in seven innings.  Bruce Pugh pitched the ninth and took the loss.

Peoria 13, Beloit 8 in Beloit (10 innings).  The Chiefs scored five in the tenth to win a slugfest.  Smaily Borges hit two home runs for Peoria.  Daniel Ortiz had two solo homers and a single.  Michael Gonzales hit two solo homers.  Oswaldo Arcia doubled and homered, driving in three.  Josmil Pinto hit a solo homer.  Andrei Lobanov surrendered six runs (five earned) on seven hits and a walk in 4.2 innings.  Blayne Weller worked 2.1 scoreless innings.  Martire Garcia pitched the tenth and took the loss.

Minor Details: Games of 4/29

Buffalo 3, Rochester 2 in Rochester.  Each team scored two in the first, but an eighth-inning homer by Lucas Duda off Anthony Slama made the difference.  Ben Revere had three hits.  Yorman Bazardo went three innings, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk.  Chuck James worked three shutout innings, striking out three.

Harrisburg 4, New Britain 1 in New Britain (12 innings).  Steve Lombardozzi’s two-run single in the twelfth brought in the winning runs.  The Rock Cats opened the twelfth inning by making two errors.  Steve Hirschfeld allowed just one run on four hits and a walk in seven innings, striking out seven.  Spencer Steedley gave up only a walk in 2.2 scoreless innings.  Tyler Robertson allowed three unearned runs to take the loss.

Ft. Myers 4, Palm Beach 3 in Palm Beach.  The Miracle took a 4-0 lead after four and held on from there.  James Beresford had three hits.  Reggie Williams and Steve Liddle each had two hits.  Daniel Osterbrock got the win, giving up a run on five hits and two walks in five innings.  Dakota Watts worked a scoreless ninth, allowing two hits but striking out two to get the save.

Beloit 7, Peoria 2 in Beloit.  The Snappers scored two in the second, two in the fourth, and two in the fifth to build a 6-0 lead.  Kyle Knudson doubled and homered, driving in three.  Michael Gonzales had two hits and Daniel Ortiz homered.  Adrian Salcedo gave up two runs (one earned) on seven hits and a walk in 6.2 innings to get the win.

Minor Details: Games of 4/28

Rochester 8, Buffalo 6 in Rochester.  The Red Wings scored six of their runs in the first three innings.  Jeff Bailey was 4-for-4 with a double and a home run, scoring three times and driving in three.  Ben Revere was also 4-for-4.  Matt Brown doubled and homered, and Trevor Plouffe had two hits.  Andrew Baldwin got the win, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk in six innings.  Carlos Gutierrez surrendered three runs on two hits and a walk in one inning.  Phil Dumatrait struck out three in the ninth to get the save.

New Britain 9, New Hampshire 7 in New Hampshire.  A four-run Rock Cats seventh broke a 5-5 tie.  Mike Hollimon hit two home runs and drove in three.  Ray Chang hit two doubles.  Yangervis Solarte hit a three-run homer in the seventh.  Bobby Lanigan allowed five runs (three earned) on seven hits and two walks in five innings.  Jake Stevens gave up a run on four hits in two innings to get the win.  Cole DeVries struck out three in two innings, giving up an unearned run on one hit, to get the save.

Palm Beach 5, Ft. Myers 2 in Palm Beach.  The Cardinals scored in the second inning and never trailed.  Anderson Hidalgo had three hits and James Beresford had two.  Kane Holbrooks took the loss, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk in six innings.

Beloit 4, Peoria 3 in BeloitLance Ray’s two-out solo homer in the eighth broke a 3-3 tie.  Ray also doubled.  Daniel Santana singled and doubled, and Jamaal Hawkins hit a two-run homer.  Logan Darnell worked 6.1 innings, giving up two unearned runs on just two hits and a walk.  Jose Gonzalez pitched 1.1 scoreless innings to get the win.

Minor Details: Games of 4/26 – 4/27

ROCHESTER

Tuesday—Buffalo 5, Rochester 0 in Rochester.  Brian Dinkelman and Rene Tosoni each had two hits.  Kyle Gibson gave up one run on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.  Jeff Manship surrendered three runs on four hits in 1.2 innings.

Wednesday—Rochester 3, Buffalo 2 in Rochester.  Matt Brown’s homer broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth, and four Red Wing pitchers made it stand up.  Brown also doubled.  Brian Dinkelman singled and doubled, and Ben Revere had two hits.  Scott Diamond got the win, giving up two runs on two hits and a walk in six innings.  Alex Burnett struck out both batters he faced to get the save.

NEW BRITAIN

Tuesday—New Hampshire 6, New Britain 5 in New Hampshire (10 innings).  The Fisher Cats scored three in the ninth to tie and one in the tenth to win.  Steve Singleton had two hits.  David Bromberg allowed one run on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings.  Tyler Robertson surrendered the three runs in the ninth, and Jake Stevens took the loss.

Wednesday—New Hampshire 11, New Britain 5 in New Hampshire.  The Fisher Cats scored six runs in the second and the game was pretty much over.  Steve Singleton singled, doubled, and homered.  Allan de San Miguel had two hits.  Deolis Guerra surrendered nine runs on nine hits and three walks in 3.2 innings.  Brett Jacobson worked 2.1 scoreless innings of relief.

FT. MYERS

Tuesday—Ft. Myers 12, Charlotte 10 in Ft. Myers.  In a see-saw game, Ft. Myers scored six in the fifth to overcome a 6-1 deficit, fell behind 9-7, then scored five in the eighth to win.  The Miracle had only eight hits but drew seven walks.  Chris Herrmann had two hits and drove in three.  James Beresford had two hits.  Brad Stillings allowed six runs on ten hits and a walk in five innings.  Jhon Garcia got the win despite giving up three runs on six hits in two innings.  Dakota Watts pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.

Wednesday—Palm Beach 4, Ft. Myers 3 in Palm Beach.  Luis Mateo hit a two-out solo homer in the bottom of the ninth off Bruce Pugh to win the game.  Danny Rams singled and doubled.  Matt Schuld allowed three runs on six hits and a walk in five innings.  Andrew Albers threw two shutout innings, giving up two hits.  Pugh gave up the game-winning homer in his second inning of work.

BELOIT

Tuesday—Beloit 6, Burlington 4 in Beloit.  The Snappers scored four in the sixth to overcome a 3-1 deficit.  Oswaldo Arcia went 4-for-4 with two homers and a double.  He scored three times and drove in three.  Manuel Soliman allowed three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out seven in 4.2 innings.  Blayne Weller worked 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits and a walk to get the win.  Jose Gonzalez struck out the only man he faced to get the save.

Wednesday—Beloit 10, Burlington 2 in Beloit.  The Snappers scored six in the first and were never threatened.  Wang-Wei Lin doubled and homered, driving in three.  Oswaldo Arcia singled and homered.  Daniel Santana singled and tripled.  Derek McCallum had two doubles.  Daniel Ortiz singled and doubled.  Jamaal Hawkins had two hits.  B. J. Hermsen gave up just one run on four hits in seven innings with seven strikeouts to get the win.

Minor Details: Games of 4/25

Pawtucket at Rochester—Postponed.  Will be made up as part of a doubleheader July 4.

New Britain 9, New Hampshire 2 at New Hampshire.  The Rock Cats scored four in the sixth and three in the seventh.  Steve Singleton hit three doubles.  Yangervis Solarte had two singles and a homer and scored three times.  Joe Benson homered.  Liam Hendriks got the win, giving up two runs on four hits and a walk in six innings.  Cole DeVries threw three perfect innings, striking out six.

Charlotte 11, Ft. Myers 5 in Ft. Myers.  The Stone Crabs scored four runs in each of the first two innings.  Greg Sexton drove in six runs with two doubles.  Danny Rams had two hits.  Ryan Mullins allowed four runs on three hits and a walk in one inning.  Matt Tone surrendered four runs on four hits and two walks in two innings.  Shooter Hunt pitched 1.2 scoreless innings of relief, walking two.

Burlington 7, Beloit 3 in Beloit.  The Bees scored four runs in the fifth.  Tony Thompson drove in four runs.  Daniel Ortiz had two doubles, Wang-Wei Lin doubled and singled, and Oswaldo Arcia had two singles.  Andrei Lobanov allowed six runs (five earned) on three hits and three walks in 4.2 innings.  Clinton Dempster retired all four batters he faced.

ROCHESTER

Friday—Pawtucket 3, Rochester 1 in Rochester.  Trevor Plouffe singled and homered.

Saturday—Rochester 9, Pawtucket 7 in Rochester.  Danny Lehmann and Toby Gardenhire each singled and homered.

Sunday—Pawtucket 9, Rochester 3 in Rochester.  Rene Rivera singled and homered.  Anthony Swarzak surrendered seven runs in 4.2 innings.

NEW BRITAIN

Friday—Bradenton 4, Ft. Myers 0 in Ft. Myers.  Chris Herrmann had two hits.  Kane Holbrooks gave up two runs on five hits and a walk in six innings.

Saturday—Ft. Myers 4, Charlotte 2 in Ft. Myers.  Danny Rams had a double and two singles.  Kevin Slowey pitched an inning, allowing a run on a hit and a walk.  Daniel Osterbrock gave up one run on five hits in six innings.

Sunday—No game scheduled.

BELOIT

Friday—Beloit at Peoria.  Postponed.  Made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday.

Saturday—Beloit 5, Peoria 2 in Peoria (Game 1—scheduled seven innings).  Daniel Ortiz singled and homered.  Andy Leer had two hits.

Saturday—Peoria 3, Beloit 2 in Peoria (Game 2—scheduled seven innings).  Lance Ray hit a home run.  Adrian Salcedo gave up one run on six hits in 5.1 innings.

Sunday—No game scheduled.
