Minor Details: Games of May 6

I won't have time to do the night game, but here are the day games:

SAINTS 10, SOUNDS 7 IN ST. PAUL (COMPLETION OF SUSPENDED GAME)

Trailing 6-5, St. Paul scored four in the sixth.  Kyle Garlick hit a two-run homer in the inning.

Kyle Farmer was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs, and two RBIs.
Jair Camargo was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second), a double, and two runs.
Edouard Julien was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and two runs.
Mark Contreras was 2-for-5.
Chris Williams hit a home run, his second.
Andrew Bechtold hit a home run, his third.
Garlick hit a home run, his fifth.

Starter Simeon Woods Richardson pitched three innings, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks and striking out four.
Cole Sands struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and two walks.

Rained out--will be made up today.

CUBS 6, KERNELS 1 IN SOUTH BEND

Leading 2-0, South Bend scored three in the seventh.

Kala'i Rosario was 2-for-4 with a double.
Ben Ross hit a home run, his third.

Jaylin Nowlin struck out five in 4.1 innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on five hits and two walks.
Matt Mullenbach pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out one.

BLUE JAYS 3, MIGHTY MUSSELS 2 IN FORT MYERS (5 INNINGS--RAIN)

Dunedin scored all their runs in the third.

Carlos Aguiar was 2-for-2.
Alec Sayre hit a two-run homer, his second.

C. J. Culpepper pitched a "complete game", giving up three runs on seven hits and a walk and striking out four.

NASHVILLE AT ST. PAUL

The game was suspended after 2 1/2 innings with the Sounds leading 3-2.  It will be completed today.

NATURALS 5, WIND SURGE 1 IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS (GAME 1--7 INNINGS)

Northwest Arkansas scored two in the first and three in the fourth.

Alex Isola was 2-for-3.

Starter Chad Donato pitched 3.1 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits and struck out three.
Seth Nordlin pitched 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out one.

NATURALS 4, WIND SURGE 3 IN NORTHWEST ARKANSAS (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)

Northwest Arkansas scored all of their runs in the first.  Wichita had the bases loaded with one out in the seventh, but DaShawn Keirsey, Jr. hit into a double play to end the game.

Brooks Lee was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.
Seth Gray hit a home run, his second.

Carlos Luna pitched 4.1 innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on five hits and a walk and striking out four.
Michael Boyle struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.

KERNELS 3, CUBS 0 IN SOUTH BEND

Cedar Rapids scored single runs in the third, fifth, and sixth.

Willie Joe Garry, Jr. was 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Nicolas Deschamps hit a two-run homer in the top of the eleventh to break a 5-5 tie.

Maddux Houghton was 2-for-4 with a home run (his second), a walk, and three RBIs.
Jorel Ortega was 2-for-6 with a triple.

Develson Aria struck out five in 4.2 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks.

Nashville scored two in the ninth to tie it 8-8 and Abraham Toro hit a two-run single in the tenth to give them the victory.

Trailing 6-2, Fort Myers scored three in the ninth and got the tying run to second base with two out, but Rubel Cespedes grounded out to end the game.

Minor Details: Where They Stand: May 2

The St. Paul Saints are 15-10, in fourth place in the International League West, two games behind Memphis, 1.5 games behind second place Iowa and Toledo.

The Wichita Wind Surge is 9-12, tied for fourth (last) place in the Texas League North with Springfield, five games behind Arkansas, one game behind third-place Northwest Arkansas.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels are 9-11, tied for third place in the Midwest League West with Quad Cities, five games behind Beloit, 3.5 games behind second-place South Bend.

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are 12-9, in third place in the Florida State League West, three games behind Clearwater, one game behind second-place Bradenton.

Olivar hit a grand slam, his second homer.

Ben Ethridge struck out four in three shutout innings, giving up a walk.

Matt Koperniak hit a two-run homer in a five-run fifth that broke a scoreless tie.

Wichita had just one hit, a single by Yoyner Fajardo in the fourth inning.

Travis Adams pitched 4.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and striking out three.
Michael Boyle pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.

WHITECAPS 10, KERNELS 0 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Already leading 5-0, West MIchigan scored five in the ninth.
