OMAHA STORM CHASERS 7, ST. PAUL SAINTS 5 IN OMAHA

It looked good early.  Matt Wallner led off the game with a home run.  Jeferson Morales homered in the second to make it 2-0, and St. Paul scored two more in the third to go up 4-0.  But Peyton Wilson hit a two-run single in a three-run fourth, in which Omaha got the benefit of three walks, to cut the lead to 4-3.  Jose Miranda singled home a run in the fifth to make it 5-3, but Omaha came back with four in the bottom of the fifth, with two of them coming on a Tyler Tolbert single.  St. Paul had a baserunner in each of the last four innings, but only once advanced him past first base.

Batters:  Jose Miranda was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.  Mickey Gasper was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, and two runs.  Matt Wallner was 1-for-4 with a home run (his third), a walk, and two runs.  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-4 with a home run, his fifth.

WICHITA WIND SURGE 11 TULSA DRILLERS 0 IN WICHITA

Kyler Fedco hit a two-run homer in the first.  It was all Wichita would need, but they scored a lot more.  Fedco homered again in the third to make it 3-0.  In the fifth, Aaron Sabato hit a three-run homer in a six-run inning that made the score 9-0.  Wichita added two more in the sixth.  Tulsa had seven hits and drew four walks but went 0-for-11 with men in scoring position.  Wichita only out-hit Tulsa 10-7, but got the benefit of twelve walks.

Batters:  Kyler Fedco was 3-for-4 with two home runs (his ninth and tenth), a walk, three runs, and four RBIs.  Rubel Cespedes was 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI.  Ricardo Olivar was 2-for-4 with a walk, a run, and two RBIs.  Aaron Sabato was 1-for-5 with a three-run homer, his fifth.

Pitchers:  Aaron Rozek pitched five shutout innings, giving up three hits and two walks and striking out three.  Pierson Ohl struck out six in three shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Jaylin Nowlin pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk and striking out one.

Opponents:  Noah Miller was 2-for-4.

LAKE COUNTY CAPTAINS 4, CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS 3 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Caden Kendle singled home a run in the second, but Ralphy Velazquez tied it with a homer in the third and Lake County took the lead in the fourth on a Maick Collado RBI double.  Danny De Andrade homered in the bottom of the fourth to tie it, but an Esteban Gonzalez RBI double made it 3-2 Lake County.  The Kernels tied it on a wild pitch in the seventh, but Lake County scored on a wild pitch in the eighth, and that turned out to be the deciding run.  Cedar Rapids had men on second and third with one out in the ninth but could not score.

Batters:  Caden Kendle was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Danny De Andrade was 2-for-4 with a home run (his fifth), a triple, and two runs.  Nate Baez was 2-for-4 with a double.

FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS 6, BRADENTON MARAUDERS 3 IN FORT MYERS

Will Taylor singled home a run in the first and Bradenton scored two in the second to take a 3-0 lead.  But Luke Napleton, recently signed as a free agent, hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the second to cut the lead to 3-2.  It stayed 3-2 until the sixth, when Jose Rodriguez hit a two-run homer to put Fort Myers ahead to stay.  They went on to score two more in the inning to make it 6-3.  Bradenton put two on in the seventh but did not threaten after that.

Batters:  Luke Napleton was 4-for-4 with a two-run homer.  Maddux Houghton was 2-for-4 with a double, a run, and an RBI.  Jose Rodriguez was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his sixth.

Pitchers:  Starter Michael Carpenter pitched 3.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and no walks and striking out three.  Jakob Hall pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and two walks and striking out two.  Jacob Kisting pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and striking out two.

Opponents:  Jose Mendez was 2-for-4 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.  Ethan Lege was 2-for-4 with a run.

FCL TWINS 8, FCL ORIOLES 2 AT TWINS (GAME 1)

Daiber De Los Santos singled home a run in the first inning.  Joshua Liranzo did the same in the third to tie it, but the Twins scored two in the third and two more in the fourth to go up 5-1.  Felix Amparo homered in the fifth, but Isaac Pena hit a two-run single in a three-run sixth to put the game out of reach.

Batters:  Daiber De Los Santos was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.  Eduardo Beltre was 2-for-3 with three runs.

Pitchers:  C. J. Culpepper made his 2025 debut, striking out four in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and no walks.  Sebastian Pulido struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit and two walks.

Opponents:  Jose Mejia was 2-for-3.  Felix Amparo was 1-for-3 with a home run.

FCL ORIOLES 9, FCL TWINS 8 AT TWINS (GAME 2)

The Twins again scored eight, but this time eight wasn't enough.  Ricardo Pena hit a two-run homer in the first, but Elvin Garcia hit a two-run homer in the second.  The Twins went up 3-2 in the bottom of the second, but the Orioles got two in the third to make it 4-3.  The Twins scored two in the fourth on an error to go back in front 5-4.  But the Orioles scored four in the fifth, two on a Luis Almeyda double, and this time they would hold the lead.  Joshua Liriano singled in a run in the sixth to make it a Dolly Parton score of nine to five.  Carlos Silva hit a three-run homer in the seventh to cut the lead to 9-8, but the Twins did not get the tying run on base.

Batters:  Irvin Nunez was 2-for-2 with two walks and three runs.  Carlos Silva was 1-for-1 with a three-run homer and three walks.  Ricardo Pena was 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and two walks.

Pitchers:  Liam Roque struck out three in 1.1 innings, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk.

Opponents:  Elvin Garcia was 2-for-2 with a home run, two walks, two runs, and three RBIs.  Nate George was 2-for-4 with two runs.  Joshua Liranzo was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.  Luis Beltran struck out five in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and two walks.

NORFOLK TIDES 8, ST. PAUL SAINTS 3 IN ST. PAUL (GAME 1)

A passed ball scored a run in the first and a four-run inning, including a Jud Fabian two-run homer, gave Norfolk all the runs it would need.  Matt Wallner homered in the third to put St. Paul on the board, but Samuel Basallo hit a two-run homer in the fourth.  Basallo homered again in the seventh.  Wallner homered in the seventh as well, a two-run shot, but it was not nearly enough.

Batters:  Matt Wallner was 2-for-4 with two homers and three RBIs.

Pitchers:  Starter Cory Lewis pitched 2.2 innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits and three walks, striking out three.  Randy Dobnak struck out two in two perfect innings.

Opponents:  Samuel Basallo was 3-for-4 with two home runs (his eighth and ninth), a double, a walk, four runs, and three RBIs.  Jud Fabian was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer, his ninth.  T. T. Bowens was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run, and an RBI.

ST. PAUL SAINTS 3, NORFOLK TIDES 2 IN ST. PAUL (GAME 2)

Emmanuel Rodriguez homered in the second to give St. Paul a 1-0 lead.  Coby Mayo singled home a run in the third to tie it.  A wild pitch put St. Paul back in front 2-1 in the fifth and a sacrifice fly provided an insurance run.  They needed it, as Chadwick Tromp homered in the seventh to cut the lead to 3-2.  However, Norfolk did not get the tying run on base.

Batters:  Mickey Gasper was 2-for-3.  Emmanuel Rodriguez was 1-for-1 with a home run (his fourth) and two walks.

Pitchers:  Simeon Woods Richardson struck out eight in six innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk.

Opponents:  Vimael Machin was 2-for-3.  Chadwick Tromp hit a home run.  Roansy Contreras struck out five in four innings, giving up one run on two hits and a walk.

SAN ANTONIO MISSIONS 2, WICHITA WIND SURGE 1 IN SAN ANTONIO

Francisco Acuna homered in the first to give San Antonio the lead.  It stayed 1-0 until the seventh, when Aaron Sabato homered to tie it.  But in the eighth, Newilian Cedeno delivered an RBI single to drive home what would turn out to be the winning run.  Wichita got the tying run to second with one out in the ninth, but could do no more.  Wichita stranded ten runners and went 0-for-10 with men in scoring position.

Batters:  Gabriel Gonzalez was 3-for-4.  Aaron Sabato was 1-for-3 with a home run, his third.

Pitchers:  Ricky Castro pitched five innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks and striking out three.  Pierson Ohl struck out three in three innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks.

Fort Wayne scored in the first on a Rosman Verdugo RBI single.  A Kaelen Culpepper single-plus-error tied it in the third and Cedar Rapids took the lead in the fourth a Caden Kendle RBI single.  Nate Baez doubled home an insurance run in the eighth.  Fort Wayne did not get a hit after the seventh.

Batters:  Khadim Diaw was 2-for-4 with a double.

Pitchers:  Jose Olivares struck out six and walked five in 3.2 innings, giving up one run on three hits.  Kade Bragg struck out five in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up two hits.  Cole Percival struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Paulshawn Pasqualotto pitched a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk.

LAKELAND FLYING TIGERS 4, FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS 1 IN LAKELAND

Wenceel Perez hit a two-run homer to put Lakeland on the board in the third.  Jefferson Valladares doubled home a run in the fifth to cut the lead to 4-1, but Lakeland came back with two more in the bottom of the fifth.  Fort Myers did not put together a threat the rest of the game.

Batters:  Fort Myers had just three hits.

Pitchers:  Dylan Questad struck out six in 4.2 innings, but allowed four runs on four hits and three walks.  Tyler Stasiowski struck out three in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and a walk.  Ivran Romero pitched a perfect inning.

Opponents:  Wenceel Perez was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk.  Lucas Elissalt struck out six in 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Luke Stofel struck out five in four innings, giving up two hits and a walk.

Stats:  Poncho Ruiz, .317/.855 OPS.  Ivran Romero, 2.29 ERA.

Record:  Fort Myers is 19-23, in sixth (last) place, 5.5 games behind Lakeland.

FCL TWINS 10, FCL PIRATES 2 AT TWINS

Estuar Suero singled home a run in the top of the third to give the Pirates a 2-1 lead, but Ariel Castro answered with a two-run homer in the bottom of the third to put the Twins in the lead to stay.  Ramiro Dominguez hit a three-run double in the fourth to make it 6-2.  The Twins added a run in the fifth and Castro homered again in the seventh.  This was another nine-inning game, and that gave time for Javier Roman to hit a two-run homer in the eighth.  Possibly it's just a matter of agreement between the teams involved whether they play seven or nine.

Batters:  Ariel Castro was 2-for-3 with two home runs, a walk, and three RBIs.  Javier Roman was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs.

Pitchers:  Christian Becerra struck out five in two innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks.  Melvin Rodriguez pitched four innings, giving up one run on three hits and no walks with no strikeouts.  Mitch Mueller struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.  Ruddy Gomez struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and two walks.

Opponents:  Luke Scherrer was 3-for-4 with a double and a run.  Ronaldys Jimenez struck out three in two innings, giving up an unearned run on no hits and a walk.

IOWA CUBS 10, ST. PAUL SAINTS 5 IN IOWA

Iowa had two Abe Lincoln innings (four score) to take the game.  Three walks and three singles plated four Iowa runs in the fourth to give the Cubs a 5-0 lead.  St. Paul got two in the fifth, but Iowa scored four more in the top of the fifth to go up 9-2.

Batters:  Ryan Fitzgerald was 4-for-5 with two doubles, a walk, a run, and two RBIs.  Will Holland was 2-for-3 with a run.  Patrick Winkel was 2-for-5 with a run.

Ricardo Olivar hit a three-run homer in the third to give Wichita a 4-2 lead.  Arkansas tied it 4-4 in the fifth, but Jorel Ortega hit a two-run single to make it 6-4 in the sixth.  Arkansas got one back in the top of the seventh, but Ortega hit a two-run homer in a four-run Wichita seventh to take a 10-5 lead.  Arkansas scored four in the eighth to get back into it, but Kyler Fedco singled home an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth.  Arkansas loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, but getting out of the jam was as easy as 1-2-3, as a pitcher-to-catcher-to-first double play ended the game.

Batters:  Ricardo Olivar was 3-for-5 with a two-run homer (his fifth) and two runs.  Jorel Ortega was 2-for-3 with a home run (his third) and four RBIs.  Kala'i Rosario was 2-for-4 with a walk and a run.  Rubel Cespedes was 2-for-5.

Peoria scored four in the first to take the early lead.  Gabriel Gonzalez homered in the fourth to put Cedar Rapids on the board.  It was 5-2 going to the bottom of the sixth, but Danny De Andrade hit a two-run homer to cut the lead to 5-4 and Nate Baez delivered an RBI single in the eighth to tie it 5-5.  Neither team scored in the tenth, but Trey Paige hit a two-run homer in the top of the eleventh.  Cedar Rapids got one back, but could not advance the tying run past first base.

Batters:  Gabriel Gonzalez was 3-for-5 with a home run (his fourth) and two runs.  Khadim Diaw was 2-for-4 with a run.  Misael Urbina was 2-for-5 with an RBI.  Danny De Andrade hit a two-run homer, his third.

Fort Myers scored two in the first to take the lead.  It was 3-1 after five, but Yeral Martinez hit a two-run double in the sixth to tie it 3-3.  That was all the scoring until the tenth, when Yasser Martinez, as the Manfred Man, stole third and scored on a wild pitch.  Jupiter got their Manfred Man to third with one out, but he was thrown out at the plate trying to score on a grounder to short.

Batters:  No Mussel had more than one hit.

Pitchers:  Starter Michael Ross pitched three innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks and striking out two.  Zander Sechrist pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit and striking out one.  Brennan Oxford struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Hunter Hoopes struck out two in 1.1 perfect innings.

COLUMBUS CLIPPERS 5, ST. PAUL SAINTS 2 IN COLUMBUS (GAME 1)

St. Paul scored two in the first, but it was all downhill from there.  They did not score again, and Columbus came back with three in the first, one in the second, and one in the fifth.  Anthony Prato was 2-for-3 with a double.  Cory Lewis struck out five in four innings, but allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks.

ST. PAUL SAINTS AT COLUMBUS CLIPPERS (GAME 2)

Rained out.

WICHITA WIND SURGE 5, FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS 2 IN FRISCO

Tanner Schobel homered to lead off the game.  In the second, Tyler Dearden homered, Tanner Schobel hit a two-run homer, and Ricardo Olivar homered.  The two Frisco runs came in the seventh.  Schobel was 3-for-4 with two home runs (his third and fourth), a double, and three RBIs.  Olivar was 2-for-5 with a home run, his second.  Dearden's home run was his second.  Pierson Ohl struck out five in four shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks.  Jaylin Nowlin struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up one hit.  John Stankiewicz pitched a perfect inning.

CEDAR RAPIDS KERNELS 8, SOUTH BEND CUBS 7 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

South Bend scored four in the fifth to take a 6-2 lead, but Cedar Rapids came back with three in the fifth and three in the sixth.  Kevin Maitan was 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, and two runs.  Nate Baez hit a home run, his second.  Brandon Winokur had two RBIs.  Alejandro Hidalgo pitched five innings, allowing six runs on six hits and two walks and striking out four.  Jacob Wosinski struck out three in two perfect innings.

JUPITER HAMMERHEADS 5, FORT MYERS MIGHTY MUSSELS 1 IN FORT MYERS

Jacob Jenkins-Cowart hit a two-run double in the third.  Jose Rodriguez singled home the lone Fort Myers run in the sixth to cut the lead to 2-1, but Jesus Hernandez hit a two-run triple in a three-run eighth to give Jupiter control of the game.  Poncho Ruiz was 2-for-3 with a double.  Adrian Bohorquez pitched 2.2 innings, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks and striking out two.  Cole Peschi struck out eight in 3.1 scoreless innings, giving up five hits and two walks.  Kade Bragg struck out four and walked one in 1.1 scoreless innings.

An error and a Jack Suwinski single gave Indianapolis a 2-0 lead in the first.  They then scored five more in the second on five singles, two walks, and a balk to put the game out of reach early.  They added single runs in the third, fourth, and fifth.  St. Paul had only three hits, with a Royce Lewis double the only one for more than one base.

Batters:  None.

Pitchers:  Starter Marco Raya lasted just 1.2 innings, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks, striking out one.  Kody Funderburk struck out two in 1.2 perfect innings.  Ryan Jensen struck out two in a perfect inning.

Well, maybe not this one.  Iowa led 6-0 after three.  It was 7-1 after six, but Iowa scored nine in the seventh.  Iowa hit eight home runs in the game.  Carson McCusker was 2-for-4 with two home runs, his third and fourth.  Armando Alvarez hit a three-run homer.  Jeferson Morales was 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks.  Starter Andrew Morris pitched 3.2 innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and a walk, striking out six.

TULSA DRILLERS 5, WICHITA WIND SURGE 4 IN TULSA (14 INNINGS)
