CUBS 5, SAINTS 3 IN IOWA

Nelson Velazquez hit a three-run homer in the third to give Iowa a 4-3 lead.

Kyle Garlick hit a three-run homer, his ninth.

Blayne Enlow pitched five innings, giving up four runs on six hits and a walk and striking out four.
Kody Funderburk struck out all four men he faced, striking out two.

WIND SURGE 8, DRILLERS 2 IN TULSA

With the score tied at two, Wichita scored three in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Will Holland was 2-for-3 with a walk and three RBIs.
Alerick Soularie hit a home run, his fifth.
Alex Isola hit a home run, his tenth.

The St. Paul Saints are 43-31, in second place in the International League West, a half-game behind Iowa.

The Wichita Wind Surge is 28-40, in fifth (last) place in the Texas League North, 16.5 games behind Arkansas, a half-game behind fourth-place Northwest Arkansas.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels ended the first half 40-26, in first place in the Midwest League West, seven games ahead of Peoria.  In the second half, they are 2-1, tied for second place with Wisconsin, one game behind Peoria.

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels ended the first half 34-32, in third place in the Florida State League North, 10.5 games behind Clearwater, 1.5 games behind second-place Bradenton.  In the second half, they are 1-2, tied for fourth with Dunedin, two games behind Bradenton, one game behind Clearwater and Tampa, who are tied for second.

The FCL Twins are 9-6, in second place in the FCL South, 1.5 games behind the FCL Pirates.

St. Paul led 3-1, but Toledo scored six in the bottom of the sixth, after which the game was called.  One wonders if the weather had anything to do with the six Toleod runs.

No Saint had more than one hit.
