RED WINGS 7, SAINTS 2 IN ROCHESTER

Rochester scored three in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead.

Jair Camargo hit a home run.  No St. Paul batter had more than one hit.

Jose De Leon pitched four innings, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks and striking out four.
Connor Sadzeck struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Patrick Murphy struck out two in a scoreless inning, giving up a hit and a walk.

CARDINALS 10, WIND SURGE 0 IN WICHITA

Matt Koperniak hit a two-run homer in a five-run fifth that broke a scoreless tie.

Wichita had just one hit, a single by Yoyner Fajardo in the fourth inning.

Travis Adams pitched 4.1 innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on seven hits and striking out three.
Michael Boyle pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.

WHITECAPS 10, KERNELS 0 IN CEDAR RAPIDS

Already leading 5-0, West MIchigan scored five in the ninth.

Ben Ross was 2-for-4 with two doubles.  That's two of the three Cedar Rapids hits.

Jordan Carr struck out seven in five innings, giving up three runs on eight hits and a walk.

Cade Hunter homered in the eighth to break a 5-5 tie.

Minor Details: Where They Stand: April 25

The St. Paul Saints are 13-7, in fourth place in the International League West, 1.5 games behind Memphis.  They are percentage points behind third-place Iowa.

The Wichita Wind Surge is 7-8, tied for third place with Northwest Arkansas in the Texas League North, three games behind Arkansas and Tulsa.

The Cedar Rapids Kernels are 6-8, in sixth (last) place in the Midwest League West, 3.5 games behind Beloit.  They are a half game behind fifth-place Wisconsin.

The Fort Myers Mighty Mussels are 8-7, tied for third place with Lakeland in the Florida State League West, two games behind Bradenton.

St. Paul led 8-1 after eight.

Elliot Soto was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

St. Paul led 6-3 and 7-6, but had to score three in the eleventh to win it.  Kyle Garlick hit a three-run homer to win the game.

Matt Wallner was 3-for-4 with a grand slam (his second homer), a double, and a walk.
Andrew Stevenson hit a home run, his second.
Garlick hit a three-run homer, his third.
The Saints had only seven hits but drew nine walks.

Simeon Woods Richardson was supposed to start, but he was called up to the majors, so Dereck Rodriguez got the call.  He pitched four innings, giving up three runs on two hits and three walks and struck out two.
Cole Sands pitched three innings, giving up one run on one hit.

DRILLERS 6, WIND SURGE 5 IN TULSA

Wichita led 4-2 and 5-4, but Tulsa scored one in the eighth to tie it and one in the ninth to win it.

Starter Kyle Jones pitched three innings, giving up five runs on six hits and two walks and striking out one.  Malik Barrington struck out five in two shutout innings, giving up a hit and a walk.  Niklas Rimmel pitched two shutout innings, giving up three hits and striking out one.  Matthew Swain pitched a perfect inning, striking out one.

HAMMERHEADS 8, MIGHTY MUSSELS 7 IN FORT MYERS

Fort Myers led 6-0, but Jupiter scored five in the seventh and three in the eighth.  Cristhian Rodriguez' two-run single brought home the tying and go-ahead runs.

Andrew Cossetti was 3-for-4 with a home run (his third), a walk, two runs, and four RBIs.  Ricardo Olivar was 3-for-5 with a double.  Jorel Ortega was 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs.

Davelson Aria pitched five scoreless, hitless innings, giving up two walks and striking out four.  The bullpen surrendered all eight runs on seven hits and two walks in four innings.

Eighth-inning homers by Brooks Lee and Yunior Severino broke a 2-2 tie.

DaShawn Kiersey hit a two-run homer.  Lee's homer was his second.  Severino's homer was his third.  No Wichita batter had more than one hit.  Of the teams' five hits, three were home runs.

Blayne Enlow pitched six innings, giving up two runs on four hits and two walks and striking out five.  Jose Bravo retired all five men he faced, striking out two.  Kody Funderburk pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and a walk and striking out one.

Kyler Castillo hit a two-run single in the fifth to give Beloit a 3-1 lead.

Starter Jaylin Nowlin pitched 4.1 innings, giving up three runs on three hits and two walks and striking out seven.  Charlie Neuweiler struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit.

MIGHTY MUSSELS 5, THRESHERS 0 IN CLEARWATER

Carlos Aguiar and Andrew Cossetti homered in a three-run second and Fort Myers led the rest of the way.

Aguiar was 2-for-3 with two home runs and a walk.  Cossetti hit a two-run homer.

Zebby Matthews struck out seven in five innings, giving up no hits and one walk.  Jackson Hicks struck out four in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.  Ben Ethridge struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.

Fort Myers scored four in the first and led all the way.
