Game 21: Indians at Twins

Time: 1:10 CDT

TV: FSN

Radio: TRN, XM 179

Starting Pitchers: Carlos Carrasco (1-1, 4.85 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) vs. Carl Pavano (1-2, 5.47, 1.22).

Saturday's outburst was great, but it's about time for the Twins to win a series and no better time to do it than against the team in first place.  The aged Twins need to give the upstart Indians their comeuppance.

The Twins are now 4-0 in Brian Duensing's starts an 4-12 the other days. That trend needs to be remedied (not the Duensing part, of course).

It also would be nice to finally get a three-game win streak and ensure the White Sox are in last place for at least one more day. Go Twins!!!!1111!!!

  1. I'm watching Sox v Tigers on WGN right now. I sort of want the Sox to win since the Twins will eventually need to catch the Tigers, but damn...it's hard to root for that team.

      1. That's true. I guess I don't really want a close, well played game. What I really want is for one of these teams to get embarrassed.

    1. So, the Twins are a fragile team because Morneau got a concussion last year. Good, solid analysis backed up by lots of evidence in that article.

  2. That's the biggest scoring threat the Indigenous Persons will get all day and they blew it. Game over.

    1. With Cuddy playing second, I think they might have some more chances to score today.

    1. The throw was about 10 feet up the line and Laddie was tagged out easily. He ran through the stop sign too.

      1. So the throw was 10 foot up the line, and Casilla was tagged out by ten feet. This sounds like one of those trig questions you see on standardized tests.

    1. I think he sent Morneau. If he did, he's every bit as good at coaching third as Ullger was.

      1. Yep, he did. Though it looks like he sort of put up a stop sign as Morneau was passing him.

    2. He didn't really seem to do much on that last one. He had his hands out at his sides like "I dunno".

        1. Looking at the replay, I think he wanted Justin to round the base hard and stop, but didn't communicate that clearly. Although I'm not a mind reader, so who knows what he was trying to do.

  3. It's funny to think about, but if the Twins go on to win this game by 1 run, the cameraman could be the one who makes the difference. If he's off his game and doesn't get that clear shot of the ball bouncing off the limestone, the call stands as a home run.

      1. if jimmers gets that close, he deserves the call (looking in slo-mo, i agree, but jim had his foot a couple inches above the bag, and fielder basically tagged his foot down onto it.

        1. I know. Credit Thome for even being in the position where the umpire has to make a tough call.

  4. I expected more from you people. Two Ullgers Liddles in one inning? Inconceivable!

  5. Somehow, having an easter egg hunt in the middle of a baseball field doesn't seem that challenging.

      1. It just looked funny because there were like 100 eggs just sitting on the infield grass in plain sight. If I had been a kid, I would have been all over that.

  6. Tolbert needs a good Olde Time nickname. Matthew "Harbinger of Gas" Tolbert has a nice ring to it.

Sorry, I'm loopy from a long day of choir/trombone at church followed by too many baby back ribs. If I can stay awake to get on my plane this afternoon, I'll be set.

    Go Twins!

  7. SSS, but Hoey has enormous splits so far. I guess I'm okay with this change, but I have no confidence in Mijares not to bean or walk the batter on four straight

    1. I watched that replay about 4 times and still can't tell if Andino was safe or out.

  8. Speaking of tours, maybe this year's convention could include that since tickets are hard to find.

        1. Oh, good. I thought it was another meme that only I had missed, but evidently bS slept through it as well.
