Minor Details: Games of 4/11

Twins affiliates get three one-run victories.  Madison Boer strikes out nine.  Brian Dinkelman leaves early with an injury.

ROCHESTER 2, PAWTUCKET 1 IN ROCHESTER

Batting starsAaron Bates was 2-for-4 with a double.  Brian Dozier was 2-for-2.

Pitching starScott Diamond struck out six in six shutout innings, giving up four hits and three walks.

Opposition stars:  Ryan Lavarnway was 2-for-4 with a double.  Tony Pena, Jr. struck out three in three shutout innings.

Key inning:  The eighth.  With two out, the PawSox struck for back to back doubles, putting the tying run on second.  Esmerling Vasquez rallied to strike out Lars Anderson and end the threat.

OtherBrian Dinkelman left the game in the fourth inning with either an injured right hand or right wrist.  There was no immediate word on his condition.

HARRISBURG 8, NEW BRITAIN 4 IN NEW BRITAIN

Batting starDeibinson Romero was 2-for-4 and drove in two.

Pitching starsLester Oliveros and Blake Martin each worked a scoreless inning.

Opposition stars:  Jose Lozada was 3-for-4.  Destin Hood doubled and tripled, driving in four.  Erik Davis struck out three in 3.1 scoreless innings of relief to get the win.

Key inning:  The seventh.  Down 4-1, the Rock Cats battled back to tie the game at four after five.  Two singles, a walk, and a hit batsman made the score 5-4 Senators.  With two out and the bases loaded, Hood tripled to put the game out of reach.

FORT MYERS 6, JUPITER 5 IN FORT MYERS

Batting starsJosmil Pinto was 3-for-4 with a double.  Lance Ray singled and homered, driving in two.

Pitching starJhon Garcia pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.

Opposition stars:  Marcell Ozuna singled and homered, driving in four.  Dallas Poulk singled and homered.

Key inning:  The fifth.  The Hammerheads scored three in the top of the inning to tie the score at five.  Ray led off the sixth with a home run to provide the margin of victory.

BELOIT 3, KANE COUNTY 2 IN KANE COUNTY

Batting starsMatthew Koch was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a walk, scoring twice.  Adam Bryant was 2-for-4 and drove in two.

Pitching starsMadison Boer struck out nine in five innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks.  Clint Dempster worked two shutout innings, allowing just one hit.

Opposition stars:  Jorge Bonifacio singled and doubled.  Scott Alexander struck out four in four shutout innings.

Key inning:  The sixth.  Down 3-1, the Cougars scored once and put runners on first and second with two out.  Orlando Calixte was caught trying to steal third to end the threat.
