PORTLAND 5, NEW BRITAIN 3 IN NEW BRITAIN
Batting stars: Estarlin De Los Santos and Evan Bigley each were 2-for-5.
Pitching stars: Blake Martin struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, walking one. David Bromberg worked a perfect inning and Luis Perdomo allowed only a walk in a shutout inning.
Opposition stars: Ronald Bermudez was 2-for-4 with a double. Caleb Clay struck out three in two shutout innings.
Key inning: The seventh. Down 5-3, the Rock Cats put runners on first and third with one out. Chris Colabello and Aaron Hicks each struck out and Deibinson Romero grounded out to end the inning. New Britain never threatened again.
Other: The Rock Cats were 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Alex Wimmers is on the disabled list with a right elbow strain.
ST.LUCIE 10, FORT MYERS 6 IN ST. LUCIE
Batting stars: Daniel Santana hit his second home run. Lance Ray hit his third home run.
Pitching star: Jhon Garcia allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks in five innings.
Opposition stars: Cory Vaughn was 3-for-4 with a three run homer. Cesar Puello was 3-for-5 with two doubles. Andres Torres was 3-for-4. Adam Kolarek was struck out five in two shutout innings.
Key inning: The sixth. Trailing 6-3, the Mets began the inning with single, double, single, single, hit batsman, scoring two runs. An infield out brought in the tying run. St. Lucie went on to score three more in the seventh to take a commanding lead.
Other: The Miracle bullpen allowed seven runs in three innings. The Mets starter was D. J. Carrasco, who is in St. Lucie on a rehab assignment. He struck one in a perfect inning.
WEST MICHIGAN 6, BELOIT 1 IN WEST MICHIGAN
Batting star: Miguel Sano and Matthew Koch each doubled.
Pitching star: Steven Gruver allowed four runs (one earned) on five hits and no walks in five innings. Michael Tonkin and Bart Carter each gave up one hit in a scoreless inning.
Opposition stars: Aaron Westlake was 2-for-5 with two doubles. Kyle Ryan gave up an unearned run on three hits and a walk in six innings. Warwick Saupold struck out five in three shutout innings.
Key inning: The fifth. Tied at one, the Whitecaps struck for three runs. They had only two hits in the inning, but were aided by two errors and a hit batsman.
Other: The Snappers made five errors in the game.
