    1. Something like this would have been the CoC if I hadn't already set it up.

It's so much fun to see that knife twisted against the Lakers.

  1. If I had photoshop instead of mspaint I could have made this pretty cool.

    1. Yeah, every time I see someone criticizing Mauer's play, I think I'm going to link to that article.

  2. Mick Jagger hosted SNL and showed the world what the big deal is. Man, was that fun.

  3. He's a great player, no doubt, but he's such a prick that I actively root against him. And no, I'm not talking about LeBron.

So why, Bryant was asked after Game 4, do the Lakers have such a hard time protecting these big leads late in games?

"Well, in the fourth quarter, they're surrounding me and they're surrounding Andrew," Bryant said. "It's as simple as that."

Of course, that puts the blame square on Pau Gasol's shoulders.

Gasol turned the ball over with 33.9 seconds left Saturday in a tied game, trying to pass it to Metta World Peace out on the perimeter, only to have the ball snatched up by Kevin Durant's long reach. That led to Durant's game-winning 3-pointer on the other end.

"It's just a bad read on Pau's part," Bryant said.

In a similar situation late in Game 2 with the Lakers trying to nurse a lead in the final minutes, Bryant was the one throwing it away and into the "Go-Go-Gadget" arms of Durant.

"That's a great play by Durant," Bryant said at the time. "It's unconventional. He just jumped the passing lane and got a good steal."

The blame game is a tricky one, isn't it?

    1. Riiight. It's Gasol's fault that he only gets 10 shot attempts in a game, despite being one of maybe the three or four most skilled big men in the world.

      1. It's only a balk if there's a runner, right? Plus, the important part is he struck out Go-Go.

        1. according to the rulebook 8.01(b) the homeplate ump can call a balk if the pitcher quick pitches to catch the batter offguard.

          1. OK, and then the pitch would be called a ball. I scanned down to the balk section of the rulebook and missed that part.

            1. Iits easy to miss, there are a lot of words describing a balk. I didnt know about the quick pitch with no runners on thing.
