INDIANAPOLIS 8, ROCHESTER 1 IN INDIANAPOLIS

Batting starsDanny Valencia was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and a walk.  Michael Hollimon was 2-for-4.

Pitching starCarlos Gutierrez struck out three in 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits.

Opposition stars:  Gorkys Hernandez was 3-for-5.  Brandon Boggs was 2-for-4.  Rudy Owens allowed a run on six hits and a walk in six innings.

Key inning:  The second.  Already leading 3-0, the Indians scored three more times on two singles and two doubles to put the game out of reach early.

OtherCole DeVries was shellacked in his first game back at AAA, surrendering six runs on six hits in just two innings.

NEW BRITAIN 6, ERIE 0 IN ERIE

Batting stars:  Evan Bigley was 3-for-5 with a double and his seventh homer.  Chris Colabello was 2-for-4 with two doubles.  Deibinson Romero hit a three run homer, his ninth.

Pitching stars:  B. J. Hermsen struck out five in seven innings, surrendering five hits and a walk.  Luis Perdomo yielded only a walk in two innings.

Opposition stars:  Jordan Lennerton was 2-for-2 with a double and two walks.  Jamie Johnson was 2-for-4.

Key inning:  The fourth.  In a scoreless tie, Colabello doubled and scored on a Bigley single.  Although they scored more later, that was the only run the Rock Cats would need.

FORT MYERS 8, PALM BEACH 5 IN PALM BEACH

Batting starsJairo Perez was 2-for-5 with a three run homer, his fourth.  Michael Gonzales was 2-for-4 with a two run homer, his sixth.  Daniel Santana was 2-for-5.

Pitching starMatthew Hauser pitched two shutout innings, giving up a hit and two walks.

Opposition stars:  Ildemaro Vargas was 3-for-4 with two doubles, driving in two.  Chris Edmondson was 2-for-4 with a home run.  Jonathan Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with a double.

Key inning:  The sixth.  Trailing 5-4, Lance Ray led off the inning with a home run to tie the score.  Following a Levi Michael single, Gonzales homered to give the Miracle a two run lead.

OtherOswaldo Arcia was back in the lineup for Fort Myers, going 1-for-4 with a walk.

WISCONSIN 5, BELOIT 2 IN WISCONSIN (10 INNINGS)

Batting stars:  Jonathan Goncalves was 3-for-4 and scored twice.  Adam Pettersen was 2-for-5.

Pitching star:  Michael Tonkin pitched 2.2 perfect innings, striking out three.

Opposition stars:  Yadiel Rivera was 3-for-5 with a three run, walkoff homer.  Chad Thompson gave up a run on four hits and a walk in five innings.  Mark Williams allowed a run on six hits and a walk in five innings.

Key inning:  The tenth.  Clint Dempster came in at the start of the inning and allowed two singles before the Rivera walkoff, retiring no one.
